Xiaomi has just introduced its new phablet, the Mi Max 3. This is the third-gen Mi Max smartphone, and it does sport noticeably thinner bezels than its predecessor, but also a larger display. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 arrived with a 6.44-inch display, while the Mi Max 3 sports a 6.9-inch panel. The Mi Max 3 is a bit narrower than the Mi Max 2, but it’s also both taller and thicker than its predecessor. The Mi Max 3 is made out of metal, and it actually resembles a number of smartphones Xiaomi introduced this year.
The Mi Max 3’s display sports rounded corners, while you will notice a vertically-aligned dual camera setup on the back of this phone. The device comes with a set of physical keys on the right, while you can access its SIM card tray on the left. The phone’s rear-facing cameras protrude a bit, while the phone utilizes on-screen buttons. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features a 6.9-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) IPS display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 64-bit octa-core processor fuels this phone, while the device comes with 4GB / 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB / 128GB of storage. Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on this phone, along with Xiaomi’s MIUI skin. 12-megapixel (Sony’s IMX363 sensor, 1.4um pixel size, f/1.9 aperture) and 5-megapixel cameras sit on the back of this phone, while a single 8-megapixel camera (1.12um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture) is located on the phone’s front side.
A 5,500mAh battery is included in the package as well, and so is Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. This phone comes with two SIM card slots (hybrid setup), while a 3.5mm headphone jack is also included, and so is an IR blaster. The device measures 176.15 x 87.4 x 7.99mm, while it weighs 221 grams. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 comes in Meteorite Black, Dream Gold, and Dark Blue color variants, while its 4GB and 6GB RAM models are priced at 1,699 Yuan ($252) and 1,999 Yuan ($296). The device will go on sale on July 20 in China, and Xiaomi did not reveal any info regarding the phone’s global availability at this time.
