AGM has just announced a new smartphone, the AGM A9. This handset got announced in Hong Kong, and it’s still not listed on the company’s official website, but it should appear there soon. In any case, the AGM A9 is the very first smartphone from the company to offer “superior sound quality”, as the company refers to the phone’s sound capabilities. This phone’s “quad box” speakers have been tuned by JBL, and AGM made sure that everyone knows that, as that is one of the phone’s main selling points.
The AGM A9 is a rugged smartphone, same as a number of previous AGM-branded devices, as AGM is well-known for manufacturing rugged devices. The phone is both IP68 and MIL-STD-810G certified, which means that not only is it both water and dust resistant, but it can also take a hit, so you shouldn’t worry about dropping it. The device is also shockproof, while it is fueled by the Snapdragon 450 64-bit octa-core processor, which is one of Qualcomm’s most powerful entry-level chips. The phone features a 5.99-inch display, though the resolution of its display was not revealed by AGM. If you take a look at the images provided down below, you will notice that the AGM A9 features a rather odd shape, an octagon-like shape, kind of. This is not anything new, as we’ve seen that shape on a number of rugged phones thus far, but it’s worth noting.
The AGM A9 does have bezels, though that bezels are not too thick, even considering that this is a rugged smartphone. The phone utilizes on-screen buttons, its power / lock key is located on the right, while you will find its volume rocker buttons on the left. On the back of the AGM A9, you’ll notice cutouts for four speakers, while a single camera is also included, Below the phone’s main camera sits an LED flash, and a fingerprint scanner, while AGMA’s logo is also placed on the phone’s back, as well as the ‘Designed by AGM’ branding. The phone is slightly curved on the back, and the company confirmed that it will become available next month. AGM is expected to list this phone on its website soon along with all the necessary spec info, as AGM did not reveal all the specs just yet.
