A new leak that details the internal flash storage capacities and color options of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A-series and Galaxy M-series devices has surfaced recently. According to the leak, the Samsung will sell four color options of the Galaxy A30, namely blue, black, red, and white, and interested consumers may choose among 32GB and 64GB internal flash storage options of the handset. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy A50 will ship in two memory configurations, which are 64GB and 128GB, and there will be five color options available for the device, including blue, pink, black, silver, and white.
Meanwhile, Samsung will reportedly launch three handsets as part of the Galaxy M-series, a smartphone lineup targeted towards the entry-level segment of the smartphone market. Contrary to a number of previous reports which claim that the smartphones will be called as the Galaxy M2, the Galaxy M3, and the Galaxy M5, recent leak states that the devices will instead be known as the Galaxy M10, M20, and M30. The Galaxy M10 will be available in 16GB and 32GB internal flash storage capacities, while the Galaxy M20 will have larger flash memory configurations, pegged at 32GB and 64GB. The Galaxy M30, on the other hand, is expected to ship in 64GB and 128GB internal storage options. All three Galaxy M smartphones will be available in two color options, namely blue and dark grey.
Background: Samsung will reportedly consolidate its smartphone offerings, which will result in the elimination of at least three handset lineups. Among the device series that will be terminated include Galaxy J, Galaxy C, and Galaxy ON-series lineups. In place of the entry-level Galaxy J series, Samsung will launch the Galaxy M lineup. To reduce the costs of its devices, the Galaxy M-series will likely sport LCD displays. Aside from the Galaxy M10, M20, and M30, rumors claim that Samsung will also unveil the Galaxy M40 and M50 handsets. While Samsung will likely market the majority of the Galaxy M smartphones as entry-level devices, the tech firm will likely sell the Galaxy M50 as a mid-range handset.
Moreover, a recent benchmark listing already provided information about the hardware features of the Galaxy M20. The Exynos 7885 chipset, which is comprised of an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.2GHz and the Mali-G71 MP2 GPU, will power the device. The smartphone will reportedly contain 3GB of RAM, and it will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed. Furthermore, the Galaxy M20 could possibly be the first Samsung handset that will feature a display notch, although there is little information available on the specific notched display design used by the Galaxy M20.
Another smartphone lineup that will likely survive the consolidation of Samsung’s handset offerings is the Galaxy A series. Unlike the Galaxy M handsets, the Galaxy A devices are expected to sport OLED displays, and Samsung will likely sell the smartphones starting at $250. Samsung will likely launch six handsets as part of the Galaxy A lineup. These smartphones tentatively identified as the Galaxy A30, A40, A50, A60, A70, and A80.
