Ulefone has just released a new rugged phone, and unlike most other phones that the company released to date, this is an entry-level model. The Ulefone Armor X2 is the name of the device, and along with the announcement itself, the company also shared an official promo video for the device. That promo video has a duration of one minute, and it will give you a good look at the phone and its features, while it is embedded below this article.
In terms of the design, this handset looks like your regular rugged handset, though interestingly enough, it sports capacitive keys below the display, not on-screen buttons. From left to right, the Ulefone Armor X2 comes with the overview, home, and back capacitive buttons, while the phone features two cameras on the back. A side-facing fingerprint scanner is also a part of the package (side-facing), while some rubber-like material is included on the back of the phone in order to offer you more grip. This smartphone also comes with facial scanning features, while it sports a 5,500mAh battery on the inside (5V/2A fast charging is included as well), which is not removable. The majority of the device is made out of metal, as expected, while the phone’s display does not sport rounded corners. This handset is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while it weighs 256 grams, and is 13.9mm thick.
The Ulefone Armor X2 features a 5.5-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) display, and it sports 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). The phone is fueled by the MediaTek MT6580 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, and and it ships with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. 8-megapixel (f/1.8 aperture) and 5-megapixel cameras sit on the back of the device, while a single 5-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) is included on the phone’s front side. Bluetooth 4.0 is included in the phone as well, though it seems like the device is still not available for purchase, but it will be soon. We still do not know how much will it cost, but you can expect it to be extremely affordable.
