In what is a fairly substantial leak, and about as official as a leak is likely to get, detailed information has now surfaced on the entire Moto G7 lineup for 2019. The details come from pages that were briefly visible on the Moto Brazil site and captured from a number of news outlets, including CNET.
Per the leak, Motorola is all but confirmed to be preparing to announce four models of the G7. These consist of the standard Moto G7, the Moto G7 Plus, the Moto G7 Play, and the Moto G7 Power.
As to be expected there are a number of specs and features common to all the models, albeit with slight variations.
Taking the standard model as the main model, the Moto G7 will come equipped with a 6.24-inch display along with a 2270 x 1080 resolution and a drop-style notch. Inside, the G7 will come loaded with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and powered by the Snapdragon 632. Cameras are made up of a single 8-megapixel front-facing camera, along with a dual (12 and 5-megapixel) rear camera setup. This all comes accompanied by a 3,000 mAh capacity battery (with TurboPower support) and Android 9 Pie.
For the most part, the G7 Plus will come with an almost identical spec list although it features the similar-but-different Snapdragon 636 and a 12-megapixel front-facing camera, along with a 16 and 5-megapixel rear camera combo. A spec line up which makes it the most premium of the four.
In contrast, the G7 Play and Power seem to be a little more budget as they come with a 1512 x 720 resolution (5.7-inch display on the Play and 6.2-inches on the Power), as well as a lesser (64GB) storage. These two also come with lesser RAM with the Play equipped with 2GB and the Power, 3GB.
While both the Play and Power models feature an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, they do differ in terms of the rear camera. With the Play featuring a single 13-megapixel camera, the Power a single 12-megapixel camera.
Likewise, they also differ in the battery department. The “Power” phone comes loaded with a 5,000 mAh capacity battery compared to the same 3,000 mAh battery found on the Play, Plus and standard models.
The leak also provides some fresh images of the new phones which showcases their design although there’s not a lot new here considering these phones have been the subject of multiple image leaks in the past weeks and months.
For example, interested buyers can expect a typical Moto look overall albeit with a greater reduction in bezels resulting in more of an all-screen display. One of the knock-on effects of this design compared to the G6 lineup is the moving of the fingerprint sensor to the rear of the device – within the Moto logo.
Even the suggestion there are four models coming is not new as that has been detailed multiple times before, and while the pricing was not mentioned in this latest leak, prices have also leaked before.
At present, Moto has not specifically confirmed when it will launch its new G7 lineup, however, strong indications point to a February 7 launch date.
Considering this leak has come from Motorola Brazil, it is probably a good bet the phones will certainly be available to buy there, and will most likely launch there.
