New, relatively low-resolution images have now leaked out for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Fit-branded wearables along with pricing for the gadgets in the UK ahead of today’s Samsung Unpacked event. Pricing for Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Active, following on last year’s Galaxy Watch, has also been revealed for the region.
The Samsung Galaxy Fit will ship in two varieties, as both the Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e. Each gadget will look similar to one another but will be separated by pricing and most likely by features or ruggedization based on the images and prices. The former will ship for around £89 — approximately $116 — while the Samsung Galaxy Fit e is said to sale for £35 — or around $45.
Both fitness bands will ship in either a black or light gray/white color scheme but the more affordable Samsung Galaxy Fit e will also appear in a Canary Yellow color, matching one of the expected Samsung Galaxy smartphones set to be launched today. Each wearable is said to be similar in functionality to last year’s Samsung Galaxy Fit2 Pro.
Galaxy Watch Active and other accessories
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active has already been detailed in a number of leaks and is expected to represent the high-end wearable offering from this year’s Samsung event. Reportedly set to sell in the UK for £229 — just shy of $300 — that will run the latest Tizen 4.0 in a 40mm form factor with a 1.3-inch display.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is expected to run on an in-house Exynos 9110 SoC. That’s the same system chip found in the original Samsung Galaxy Watch but backed up by 4GB of memory and a 230mAh battery. NFC and a heart rate monitor have been leaked as inclusions alongside that internal hardware.
For colors, the leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active and other documentation have suggested it will ship in either black, silver, green, or rose gold configurations.
Other accessories expected to launch alongside new flagships at the Unpacked event include new true wireless earbuds to replace the Samsung Gear IconX, dubbed Samsung Galaxy Buds. Those will ship in a variety of colors alongside the new smartphones and will be bundled with pre-orders, according to recent reports. Aside from a completely new look, the new listening devices will mostly be similar to the previous iteration but there is some indication that the handsets will be able to wirelessly charge the earbuds too.
Samsung’s Galaxy Buds are expected to arrive in white, black, or Canary Yellow.
Samsung Unpacked
Whether or not the speculation and newly leaked images are completely accurate remains to be seen but that isn’t too far off, with Samsung’s event scheduled for 11 AM PST on February 20. Aside from the new accessories and wearables, Samsung is expected to launch no fewer than four new flagship handsets. Those include a new Galaxy S lineup with the Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e, and Galaxy S10+ as well as a special ceramic edition Samsung Galaxy S10+.
The event could also see new information revealed about the long-awaited Samsung “Galaxy Fold,” expected to be Samsung’s first flagship with a flexible display panel that can be folded into and out of a tablet configuration.
