Fitbit is adding four new products to its wearable lineup, including Lite Edition of the existing Versa smartwatch, two “every day” fitness trackers called Inspire and Inspire HR, and an additional tracker aimed at kids ages 6+ called the Ace 2. All of these new wearables are available for purchase already, excepts for the kids-oriented Ace 2 which is scheduled to release this summer.
The Fitbit Versa Lite Edition borrows a lot from the ongoing Versa wearable and is capable of tracking the wearer’s sleep pattern, steps, and calories while providing 24/7 heart rate monitoring. It offers more than 15 exercise modes, along with real-time pace and distance data via a connected phone’s GPS. Likewise, it’s swim proof and offers more than 4 days of battery life on a single charge. What it lacks compared to the non-lite model is the ability to store and play music and compatibility with Fitbit Coach, and cannot track elevation or swimming workouts.
Next up is the Fitbit Inspire and Inspire HR. The former has essential health and fitness features such as sleep and exercise tracking, reminders, and goal celebrations, whereas the latter is a more fleshed out activity tracker offering Sleep Stages tracking, guided breathing exercises, and connected GPS. As the moniker reveals, the Inspire HR also benefits from 24/7 heart rate monitoring and offers cardio fitness scores. Both models are swim proof, have a rectangular touchscreen display and can remain active for up to 5 days on a single battery charge.
Finally, the Fitbit Ace 2 replaces last year’s model and offers bedtime reminders and alarms, sleep and all-day activity tracking, while aiming to keep young wearers more active with incentives such as virtual badges and avatars. It’s swim proof, it delivers up to 5 days of battery life on a single charge, and is paired with the Fitbit app allowing parents to set up family and child accounts to gain access to Parent View and Kid View, the latter of which is a form of parental control which blocks certain data from being displayed.
The Fitbit Versa Lite Edition is available in White, Lilac, Mulberry, and Marina Blue for the price of $159.95. The Fitbit Inspire carries a $69.95 price tag making it one of the more budget-friendly Fitbit solutions, while the Inspire HR is available for $99.95 in Black or Sangria.
Meanwhile, the Fitbit Ace 2 will launch later this summer and will be available for purchase in retail stores and online shops for the price of $69.95. Buyers will be able to pick between Watermelon or Night Sky color with a Teal or Neon Yellow clasp, respectively.
All four devices can be paired with a very wide range of accessories and availability includes a number of markets like North America – via Amazon, Best Buy, Kohl’s, Target, and Walmart, as well as in Europe and the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Singapore. According to Fitbit citing IDC, the wearable market is expected to grow and reach 189 million unit shipments by 2022. In the fourth quarter of last year, Fitbit was outperformed by Samsung in terms of smartwatch shipments and market share, but the OEM continued to perform better than Garmin who fell on fourth place.
