OnePlus 7 Case Leaks Reconfirm Unsurprising Design Choices

The alleged OnePlus 7 leaked in a number of renders quite recently from a rather reliable source, now a third-party case surfaced on Twitter, and it seems to be made for the device that leaked recently, so it may even be a legit leak.

An image of this case was shared by Ice universe, a well-known tipster, though it’s pretty obvious that we’re looking at a generic, third-party case here. Based on its shape, and cutouts, this case may actually fit the device that surfaced recently.

As you can see, the case comes with a rather tall cutout on the back which is there for the phone’s triple camera setup. On the right side of the case (well, left if you’re looking it from the back), you will notice two cutouts for the phone’s power / lock key and an alert slider that will be placed above it. On the left sits a wider cutout for the phone’s volume up and volume down buttons. This case will cover up the SIM card tray on the device, no matter where it ends up being located.

Renders of the OnePlus 7 were shared by Pricebaba and @OnLeaks earlier this month, and they were quite detailed. If those renders are to be believed, the OnePlus 7 will be made out of metal and glass, just like its predecessor, while OnePlus will once again utilize an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The device that was shared comes with extremely thin bezels, and it doesn’t really have a visible front-facing camera, because that camera is tucked inside of the device. The OnePlus 7 will allegedly include a pop-up front-facing camera, just like some Vivo and OPPO smartphones. That camera will appear when you fire up the camera app, and switch it to a front-facing camera via an in-app toggle.

Rear-facing cameras on this device protrude a bit, while the phone’s display will include round corners. The display will not be curved, almost certainly, but a curved glass panel will be placed on top of it, as it was with the OnePlus 6T.

The OnePlus 7 is expected to arrive in May, though OnePlus did not confirm anything just yet. The device is rumored to include a 6.5-inch fullHD+ Optic AMOLED display, while it will ship with at least 6GB of RAM on the inside, though expect more than one variant of this phone to be available. It is even possible that OnePlus may include 8GB of RAM in the base model, we’ll see.

The phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 855 64-bit octa-core processor, but it will not support 5G connectivity. OnePlus is actually planning to introduce a separate smartphone in the near future, which will support 5G, though not much is known about that phone.

Android 9 Pie will come pre-installed on the OnePlus 7, and on top of it, you’ll get OnePlus’ OxygenOS Android overlay. The OnePlus 7 will not sport a 3.5mm headphone jack, nor will it ship with wireless charging. OnePlus’ extremely fast Warp Charge fast wired charging will be included in the package, though.
