Budget Samsung Galaxy A20 Announced With Thin Bezels & Dual Cameras

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A20 in Russia. Along with that device, the company also introduced the Galaxy A30 and A50 in the country, though those two phones are not exactly new, as they were introduced last month alongside the Galaxy A10. Only the Galaxy A20 is a brand new phone, so that’s the device that we will focus on here.

The Galaxy A20 is one of Samsung’s budget smartphones, and it seems to be made out of metal and plastic, though Samsung refers to this phone’s back design as “3D Glasstic”, which is a bit confusing. Maybe Samsung opted to combine glass and plastic in the Galaxy A20’s case, who knows.

The Galaxy A20, as you can see, features rather thin bezels, it comes with a tiny waterdrop notch at the top of the display, which incorporates the phone’s selfie camera, and its earpiece. The display features rounded corners, while a thin “chin” is present below the display.

Volume up, volume down, and power / lock buttons are included on the right-hand side of the phone, while Samsung’s logo sits on the back. A fingerprint scanner is located right above the company’s logo, while two vertically-aligned cameras are placed in the top-left corner on the phone’s back side. An LED flash sits right below those two cameras, while the back side is curved.

The Galaxy A20 features a 6.4-inch HD+ (1560 x 720) Infinity-V Super AMOLED display, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card).

A 4,000mAh battery is included in the Galaxy A20 package, while the device sports an 8-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) on the front. 13-megapixel (f/1.9 aperture) and 5-megapixel (f/2.2 aperture) cameras are included on the back side of this phone, while the device is fueled by the Exynos 7884 64-bit octa-core processor.

The Samsung Galaxy A20 is priced at RUB13,990 ($217) in Russia, though Samsung still did not share any details regarding its availability, though the phone is expected to become available soon in the country.

Samsung had introduced the Galaxy A10, A30, and A50 smartphones last month, while the Galaxy A40 and A90 are expected to drop on April 10. The company already announced a global event for April 10, and in addition to those two phones, the company will probably introduce the Galaxy A20 as well, thus presenting it to other markets as well, not only Russia. That’s probably when we’ll get more info regarding the phone’s availability as well.

All three of those phones will almost certainly become all over Europe, though some additional markets are planned by Samsung for sure. The Galaxy A40 and A90 will also be mid-range devices, though they will be more powerful than the Galaxy A20. Samsung is really going all in when it comes to its Galaxy A series, the company is already offering quite a few devices, and plenty more are coming it seems. As things stand at the moment, the company will have at least six new Galaxy A series phones to offer to consumers.
