According to a new report, Huawei is planning to ship out 20 million Huawei P30 series smartphones by the end of 2019. As part of the first batch, however, the company is planning to sell 6 million P30 handsets.
Based on the info provided by the source, the company may actually be counting only the P30 and P30 Pro in this equation, not the P30 Lite, though we highly doubt that, as all P30 devices will be counted towards those sales. In any case, the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro will go on sale in China on April 11, while other markets will follow suit.
Huawei has reportedly been hiring more people in order to make sure that the demand is met for the Huawei P30 series. These two handsets had been announced last month, and the company had introduced several variants of the two phones. The Huawei P20 Lite had also been quietly announced in some regions, though Huawei will probably talk more about the P30 Lite down the road.
Huawei has managed to become one of the largest smartphone manufacturers out there, and its P series of devices are usually amongst the company’s best selling phones, so such estimates are not exactly surprising.
The company had managed to sell 200 million smartphones in 2018, and is aiming to up the ante even more in 2019, by aiming to sell 250 million devices. Huawei has a huge appetite, as we also know that the company will aim to hit the magical 300 million in smartphone sales in 2020.
It remains to be seen if the company’s plans will come to fruition, but that would not exactly be a surprise as Huawei has been meeting and exceeding all of its goals in the last couple of years, and managed to jump over Apple in the process, in order to become world’s second largest smartphone manufacturer. Truth be said, the two companies have constantly been trading places over the last year or so. If Huawei managed to sell 250 million devices this year, however, it will probably cement that second place, and come even closer to Samsung.
The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are the company’s latest flagship smartphones, and both of these devices are fueled by the same processor, the Kirin 980. Both phones are made out of metal and glass, and they do resemble one another, quite a bit, even though the P30 Pro is larger and more powerful.
The Huawei P30 Pro comes with an innovative periscope camera system, which has great zooming capabilities, while the P30 does not offer such functionality, unfortunately. Both devices include three cameras on the back, while the P30 Pro also comes with a ToF (Time of Flight) camera sensor.
Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed on both phones, along with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) skin, while both phones include rather large batteries which support fast charging. The Huawei P30 Pro’s fast charging is faster than P30’s, while the device also includes fast wireless charging, and reverse charging. All in all, both devices have plenty to offer, though it’s safe to say that the P30 Pro is the company’s true flagship at the moment.
