OnePlus 7 Pro Triple-Camera Setup Detailed In New Leak

The OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro rumors and leaks have been coming strong in the last week or so, and now a new piece of info surfaced, sharing more information about the camera setup on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

According to Max J. from Samsung_News, the OnePlus 7 Pro will feature 48, 8, and 16-megapixel cameras on the back. This confirms previous info that the device will include three cameras on its back, and that its main camera will include a 48-megapixel sensor.

The source went on to say that an 8-megapixel unit will actually be a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and an f/2.4 aperture lens. A 16-megapixel unit will be your dedicated ultra-wide camera, with an f/2.2 aperture lens. We still do not have any info on the 48-megapixel main sensor, but it may end up being the same one HONOR used in its View20 flagship, which would mean we’re looking at an f/1.8 aperture lens, 0.8um pixel size, and PDAF support.

The OnePlus 7 series will allegedly arrive on May 14, at least that’s the date that several tipsters mentioned. OnePlus’ CEO promised that he will tomorrow tweet about the OnePlus 7 series launch date, quite probably confirming May 14, but we’ll see.

This will be the first time that OnePlus will introduce more than one flagship at the same time, as the company is actually rumored to announce three smartphones on May 14, the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, and OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. The latter two devices will probably be completely identical, save for the 5G support on the 5G model, but the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro will be considerably different, if rumors and leaks are anything to go by.

The OnePlus 7 is actually supposed to be almost identical to the OnePlus 6T in terms of the design. Leaked renders suggested that OnePlus will recycle the OnePlus 6T’s design, with one notable change, different placement for the phone’s LED flash on the back. In the provided renders, the phone’s camera setup also seemed to protrude a bit more on the back, probably because of that 48-megapixel sensor. Just to be clear, the OnePlus 7 is supposed to ship with two cameras on the back, not three, though that 48-megapixel sensor will be included, almost certainly.

The OnePlus 7 Pro, on the other hand, will be larger than the OnePlus 7, and it will also be different in terms of the design. The OnePlus 7 is expected to sport a tiny teardrop display notch, just like the OnePlus 6T, while the OnePlus 7 Pro will not include a notch or a display hole, instead, it will ship with a pop-up camera. The device is also said to include a curved display, unlike the OnePlus 7, and that display will be QHD+ in resolution, according to rumors, while the OnePlus 7 will include a fullHD+ panel.

That’s not all, the OnePlus 7 is expected to ship with a 6.41-inch panel, while the OnePlus 7 Pro is said to ship with a 6.64-inch display. The OnePlus 7 Pro will not be much wider than the OnePlus 7, as that curved display will surely help with that, but it will probably be noticeably taller than its sibling. Both phones will be fueled by the Snapdragon 855, and both will ship with large batteries, and Android 9 Pie out of the box.
