Back in March, Jonas Daehnert aka PhoneDesigner on Twitter, shared its vision for the upcoming Pixel 4 series smartphones. Well, the designer has opted to update that vision, but releasing several new photos showing off the Pixel 4.
Back in March, the designer actually envisioned the Pixel 4 with a single, large display camera cutout in the top-right corner, and a single camera on the back. The Pixel 4 XL, on the other hand, was envisioned with a pill-shaped display camera cutout which houses two cameras, while two horizontally-aligned cameras were placed on the back of the device.
This time around, the source opted to release only one design, which we presume refers to both the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, as it comes with a single display camera cutout, and two cameras on the back.
This new design actually sports a display camera cutout in the top-left corner of the display, and that cutout is considerably smaller than on the previous design. The two rear-facing cameras are included in the top-left corner of the phone’s back, and an LED flash sits right besides them. A fingerprint scanner is not visible here, so we presume that the designer opted to place it under the display.
This Pixel 4 concept combines black and dark gray colors on the back and sides, while Google’s logo is present on the back as well. The device has basically no bezel on the front, not even a “chin” below the display, and its rear-facing cameras do protrude a bit.
As you can see, the designer also included Android Q on the display here, which you will realize as soon as you notice its slimmed-down navigation line on the bottom. As most of you know, Google will replace its odd navigation gesture system from Android Pie, with a more logical navigation gesture system in Android Q.
That Pixel 3 series was announced back in October 2018, and the Pixel 4 phones are also expected to arrive in that timeframe, this year. The real Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will probably differ from what you can see here, of course, as this is just a third-party concept design, but it’s still nice to see. We doubt many people would object to this design, if Google ends up releasing something similar to it.
The Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will almost certainly be fueled by the Snapdragon 855 64-bit octa-core processor by Qualcomm, while the two phones will ship with Android Q out of the box. We still do not know what will the full name for Google’s upcoming Android version be, but Google is expected to release more info in the coming months.
The company is expected to include at least 6GB of RAM in the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, though it remains to be seen if more than one variant will be offered. At least the Pixel 4 XL will sport a QHD+ display, while the Pixel 4 is more likely to include a fullHD+ panel, though we’re only guessing at this point, not much info surfaced regarding these two phones, as it’s still too early for that.
