Specifications: OnePlus 7

OnePlus had introduced two smartphones today, the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. The OnePlus 7 is the more affordable of the two phones, and in addition to that, it’s also quite a bit different in terms of the design. Its specifications are somewhat different than the OnePlus 7 Pro’s, as it’s expected considering the price cut, but the phone is still quite impressive.

The OnePlus 7 looks like a reincarnated OnePlus 6T. It is also made out of metal and glass, but instead of a pop-up camera, it includes a waterdrop notch, inside of which a selfie camera lies. This phone includes two cameras on the back, not three, like its larger sibling. We’re here to take a closer look at the OnePlus 7’s spec sheet.

The OnePlus 7 sports a 6.41-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) Optic AMOLED display. That is a flat display, just like on the OnePlus 6T, and it comes with a display aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 is here to protect its display, same as on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

This handset is fueled by the same chip as its sibling, the Snapdragon 855, while it comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants (LPDDR4X RAM). The phone’s 6GB RAM option includes 128GB of storage, while its 8GB RAM variant comes with 256GB of storage.

Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed here with OxygenOS 9.5, same as on the OnePlus 7 Pro, and the OnePlus 7 also includes UFS 3.0 storage. The device sports two SIM card slots (2x nano SIM), and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

48-megapixel (f/1.7 aperture, 0.8um pixel size, OIS) and 5-megapixel (f/2.4 aperture, fixed focus, 1.12um pixel size) cameras are placed on the back of the device, along with a dual-LED flash, while a single 16-megapixel unit (Sony’s IMX471 sensor, 1.0um pixel size, EIS, f/2.0 aperture, fixed focus) sits on its front side.

A 3,700mAh battery is included inside of the OnePlus 7, and the device supports 5V/4A fast charging, OnePlus’ proprietary charging. Much like the OnePlus 7 Pro, this phone does not support wireless charging, nor reverse wireless charging. Face Unlock is a part of the device as well, it uses the phone’s front-facing camera to scan your face, and thus unlock your phone.

The device includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, an optical one, and it comes with two SIM card slots (2x nano SIM). A 3.5mm headphone jack is not a part of the package, unfortunately, you will have to use an included dongle (3.5mm to Type-C) if you’d like to hook up your earphones to the OnePlus 7.

The OnePlus 7 does come with stereo speakers, just like the OnePlus 7 Pro. The OnePlus 7 measures 157.7 x 74.8 x 8.2mm, while it weighs 164 grams. The device comes in Mirror Gray and Red variants. Do note that the Red variant is reserved for China and India only, so those of you who don’t live in one of those countries are stuck with the Mirror Gray model.

It is worth noting that if you purchase this handset, you will get a case in the retail box, and a pre-applied screen protector, along with all the usual stuff that you’d expect. The phone will go on sale in early June, said OnePlus.
