No one needs to have the names Roomba or iRobot explained to them. It’s a brand as iconic as it gets for the robot vacuum industry, and while they certainly popularized the concept of robot vacuums and the hockey puck shape, they’ve been doing some big things lately to change up how people think of a robot vacuum.
The Roomba s9 is the first iRobot vacuum to use a the D-shape that Neato popularized quite a few years back, and it’s touting this as the best cleaning robot they’ve ever made. That’s a good thing since the vacuum alone is a thousand bucks, and the model with the automatic clean base brings that up to 1300 bucks. Those are some pretty crazy numbers by any account, so let’s look at whether or not this vacuum could possibly be worth that price.
If you need the absolute best robot vacuum on the market with the best suction power and best corner cleaning abilities, the Roomba s9 fits the bill. Need one that can clean itself and be a fully automated process? The Roomba i7 can be another, cheaper option that’s almost as good of a vacuum. Don’t want to spend $1000 or more on a robot vacuum? There are plenty of options to choose from, but it’s pretty clear this is geared toward those that want the best of the best with no compromises and, in this case, you certainly get what you pay for.
