Looking to seriously spruce up the look of your home with some snazzy new light fixtures this Summer? ET2 has released several new lines of light fixtures that come with Philips HUE technology built right in, meaning you don’t even have to go out and buy a bunch of brand new HUE bulbs in addition to your fancy new dining room light. It also means you don’t have to sully the look of some of these ultra-modern pieces since the light is built right into the fixture itself.
ET2 debuts these fixtures with the honor of being one of the first manufacturers in North America to integrate Philips HUE’s smart lighting technology into a line of decorative luminaires.
Rated at 50,000 hours of use, these built-in color-changing LEDs will last you a theoretical lifetime without ever having to worry about maintenance or purchasing additional bulbs throughout the light fixture’s time in your home. The only thing you’ll need to get things going is a Philips HUE Bridge, which is the wireless solution Philips sells that can control your lights from anywhere you need, whether it’s with your voice in another room, or with a tap in the Philips HUE app from another state or country.
As all of these are part of the ‘Friends of HUE’ collection, they all work with your favorite virtual assistant and with your personal choice of smarthome ecosystem. That includes Amazon Alexa, Google Home/Assistant, Apple HomeKit, or any Zigbee protocol devices as well. That also means that they’re fully color-changing and can adapt to any need you might have.
Want to set a warmer tone in the evenings? How about a brighter, cleaner look during the daytime? Maybe you want to synchronize your lighting to fit what’s on TV, or have it jive to the music? There’s an unbelievably amount of cool and useful things you can do with a HUE-connected system, which is the world’s leading smart lighting system for homes.
These new lines start with two round light fixtures. The iCorona where the Philips Hue lighting is encased inside a dual matte white ring. The iQ includes a Brushed Black finish and is fitted with a custom formed diffuser that evenly diffuses the light.
The second group is a pair of bar-style lights, which run in two distinctly different shapes and sizes, and each comes in several different finishes and color schemes. The iWood is a rectangular solid wood frame with stainless steel trim, available in Wenge with Polished Chrome or Antique Pecan with Brushed Champagne. The iBar features aluminum channels anodized in a choice of Brushed Aluminum or Brushed Black. The pendants support a solid block of Clear acrylic, which creates a dramatic lighting effect.
As with any Philips HUE or Friends of HUE product, you can mix and match any number of bulbs or light fixtures in the collection and allow them to interact with each other. This includes setting routines, being able to intelligently work with other devices via color-changing or powering on and off, or even remote control from anywhere. Philips is now even selling a line of HUE bulbs with Bluetooth built-in so that you can control bulbs without the need for a HUE Bridge, too.
