According to a new rumor, the Huawei Mate 30 series may ship with 25W fast wireless charging support. This will be a considerable improvement over what the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro had to offer.
The Huawei P30 did not offer wireless charging at all, while the Huawei P30 Pro shipped with 15W wireless charging support. Well, if this rumor ends up being true, the Huawei Mate 30 series will offer the fastest wireless charging in the business.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 and Galaxy Note 10+ offer 20W wireless charging as we speak. Such charging is considered to be plenty fast for wireless charging, and Huawei is looking to top that. If the rumor ends up being true, Huawei’s wireless charging will be faster than many fast wired charging options in the market.
Do note that is just a rumor at this point, so take it with a grain of salt before we get more information. Now, speaking of charging, the Huawei P30 offers 22.5W fast wired charging, while the P30 Pro ships with 40W fast wired charging.
The source did not mention anything regarding wired charging, but Huawei may be looking to improve in that regard as well. That move may not even be necessary, at least not for the Huawei P30 Pro, as 40W charging that the company included is incredibly fast still.
The Huawei P30 Pro also offers reverse wireless charging, which is something that the regular model does not support. It remains to be seen if both the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro will support such feature, or only the Pro model. Good news is that Huawei seems to be looking to bring fast wireless charging to the regular Mate 30 unit, at least if the source is to be believed. This gives us hope that the reverse wireless charging may also be included.
The Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are expected to become official on September 19, at least if rumors are to be believed. Huawei still did not confirm anything, even though that confirmation will probably come in the coming weeks.
Huawei’s Mate 30 series devices are expected to arrive with the Kirin 990 64-bit octa-core processor, which may be introduced on September 19 as well. Huawei may opt to introduce its new flagship processor sooner than that, though, so we’ll see, but it will almost certainly be called the Kirin 990.
Both the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are expected to be made out of metal and glass. The two devices will differ in terms of size, but chances are they will be almost identical in terms of the design.
Both phones are expected to ship with Android Q aka Android 10 out of the box, with Huawei’s brand new Emotion UI (EMUI) 10 skin. This new variant of the company’s Android skin has been announced only a couple of days ago.
The Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are also expected to offer further improvements in the camera department, while both phones will include an in-display fingerprint scanner as well.
