New DOOM Eternal Stadia Trailer Confirms March 20 Launch

Over the weekend Google released a new Stadia trailer for DOOM Eternal on the official YouTube channel, and it confirms the March 20 launch date.

Bethesda itself has confirmed at least once that DOOM Eternal would be released on March 20 of 2020. But lack of the Stadia logo in one or two of the trailers led some to speculate that the Stadia release may not be the same day. An October 2019 blog post from Bethesda also fails to mention Stadia for release on this day.

Google’s recently dropped trailer would now seem to confirm that the game will launch on Stadia alongside the other platforms. So those looking to pick it up can rest easy that this game can be a day one purchase for them.

The DOOM Eternal launch on Stadia may not come with DOOM 64

For those eager to grab this game on Stadia, it may be DOOM Eternal and DOOM Eternal only.

One of the big incentives from Bethesda to pre-order the game before its release is the inclusion of DOOM 64 as a free digital download. The company announces this the first time in the above-mentioned October blog post.

However it only points out that it will be a pre-order bonus for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Though the Nintendo Switch version isn’t being released until later in the year.

Because Stadia isn’t mentioned at all it’s suspected that it won’t be included. Another thing to consider is that you can’t really pre-order games on Stadia. You can only buy them once they launch for the service.

And since DOOM 64 is a pre-order bonus, Stadia may not get it. That said, some believe that it will still be available.

There’s still no mention of price

One of the big questions is always, “what’s the price going to be?” And one of the main reasons for that when it comes to Stadia is because some of the games have been more expensive than on other platforms.

However, DOOM Eternal is a brand-new release that will hit Stadia the same day as other platforms. This will no doubt be a $60 game on PC, and on consoles. So, the pricing for Stadia should be $60.

The only difference is that sometimes you can snag the game for a little bit of a discount on store fronts like Steam if you pre-order. The official Stadia twitter says it will share details on pricing soon. Don’t expect it to be more than $60 though, and there’s even a chance that it could receive a Pro discount on launch day.
