Pricing Details For The Entire Huawei P40 Series Appear

The Huawei P40 series is scheduled to arrive at the end of this month, and pricing details have just surfaced online. Three smartphones are expected to arrive as part of this series, the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro PE (Premium Edition).

All three of those phones are expected to launch on March 26, as that is when the company scheduled its press conference. Huawei was planning to host a physical press event in Paris, but that will not happen.

The company has opted to switch to an online-only event due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Many consider that to be a good move, as many major events got postponed due to the virus.

That being said, these pricing details for the Huawei P40 series come from Teme, a well-known tipster. He shared them via his official Twitter profile. Before we get into it, do note that these prices are valid for Europe, and they may vary by country. The tipster says that they may vary up to +/-€50-100, which seems like a lot.

Leaked Huawei P40 pricing details suggest that the most affordable model will cost between €799 and €899

In any case, the Huawei P40 is said to be priced somewhere between €799 and €899 in Europe. The Huawei P40 Pro will cost between €999 and €1,099, while the P40 Pro PE will be priced between €1,199 and €1,299.

So, it seems like the cheapest P40 flagship will be more affordable than the cheapest Galaxy S20 flagship, and the most expensive one will be more affordable than the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

These are still extremely high price tags, though. That was to be expected considering these are flagship-grade phones, but it’s still difficult to get used to such price tags.

It will be interesting to see how many P40 devices will Huawei be able to sell without Google services, though. As many of you know, Huawei is still banned from doing business with Google, and many other US companies.

That essentially means that it cannot pre-install Google services on its smartphones. In other words, you don’t get access to a single Google-made app, including the Play Store. Huawei will pre-installed its very own ‘HMS’ on the Huawei P40 series, though, along with the AppGallery for apps.

The P40 Pro PE model will include a ceramic backplate

Some of you are probably wondering what is the difference between the Huawei P40 Pro and P40 Pro PE. Well, the ‘PE’ model will come with a ceramic backplate, at least as far as leaks are concerned. It will look the same as the P40 Pro, though, but it may include slightly different specs.

All three Huawei P40 series smartphones will be fueled by the Kirin 990 SoC. That is Huawei’s most powerful chip at the moment. All three phones are also expected to support 5G. We’re not sure if 4G variants will be available at all.

The Huawei P40 will be the only P40 series device to sport a flat display. The other two phones will include curved displays. The P40 Pro and P40 Pro PE will also include a more powerful camera setup.
