The Huawei P40 5G and Huawei P40 Pro 5G monikers have just been confirmed. These names have been confirmed by Thailand’s NBTC certification website.
The Huawei P40 appeared with a model number ‘ANA-NX9’, while the ‘Pro’ variant surfaced with the model number ‘ELS-NX9’.

You can see those certification documents in the gallery down below. Other than the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro 5G monikers, nothing else got confirmed here, unfortunately. We do have plenty of information on both phones thus far, though.
The Huawei P40 and P40 Pro will become official on March 26. The company has officially confirmed that quite recently. The event was supposed to be hosted in Paris, but Huawei decided to switch to an online-only event.
Why is that? Well, you’re all aware of the Coronavirus outbreak at this point, and Huawei doesn’t want to take any chances. The vast majority of such press conferences were online-only lately.
We do know that both of these phones will be made out of metal and glass. The ‘Pro’ variant may arrive in a special ‘Premium Edition (PE)’ variant, though, with a ceramic back.
Both phones will support really fast wired charging, and fast wireless charging as well. Reverse wireless charging will also be a part of the package, in case you need to recharge your earbuds or something of the sort.
The Kirin 990 64-bit octa-core processor will be included in both smartphones. This is Huawei’s most powerful processor at the moment, and it supports 5G by default.
The ‘Pro’ model will include a periscope camera system
The Huawei P40 Pro is expected to include a periscope style camera, just like its predecessor. The P40, on the other hand, will not, it seems.
The Huawei P40 will include a flat display, while the ‘Pro’ model will sport a curved panel. That will be the main differentiating factor in terms of the design, it seems.
Both devices are expected to include a display camera hole. In fact, both of them will probably sport a pill-shaped camera hole in the top-left corner. That hole will host two front-facing cameras.
Android 10 will come pre-installed on both devices, while both phones will offer certification for water and dust resistance. Huawei’s EMUI skin will come pre-installed on Google’s OS, by the way. It is also worth noting that Google services will not be a part of the package here, but Huawei’s HMS will.
