The Huawei P40 Pro camera specs have just surfaced online, and they look really promising. This information comes from ‘Teme’, a well-known tipster.
The Huawei P40 Pro camera specs promise two large sensors, along with two ‘zoom cameras’
He shared this information via Twitter, and revealed quite a few details. Based on this camera specs, the Huawei P40 Pro will feature a 52-megapixel main camera (Sony’s IMX700 sensor). That will be a Hexadeca Bayer setup, RYYB with a 1/1.28-inch sensor.
What does ‘Hexadeca Bayer’ means? Well, that’s Greek for sixteen, and it probably means that the sensor will do two rounds of 4-in-1 pixel binning. That probably means we’ll get 13-megapixel images after one round of binning, and 3.25-megapixel images after two rounds of binning. Two rounds are probably reserved for Night mode, but we’re still not sure.
The second sensor on the back will also be quite large, a 40-megapixel Sony IMX650 unit. That will be the phone’s dedicated ultra wide camera with an RGGB filter. We’re looking at a 1./1.5-inch sensor here.
A periscope camera will be included as well
To make things even more interesting, on top of these two large sensors, the phone will include two telephoto cameras. One will be a regular telephoto camera which will enable 3x optical zoom. The other one will be a periscope camera.
That periscope camera will offer 10x optical zoom, a hybrid optical zoom, that is. You can also expect to be able to utilize crazy zoom distances with that camera, 30x, 50x, maybe even 100x, we’ll see.
On top of everything we’ve mentioned, the device will also have a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor on the back, as well as a color temperature sensor. An LED light will also be included.
As you can see, the source shared quite a bit of information here. Based on this, our expectations for the Huawei P40 Pro cameras are high, that’s for sure.
The Huawei P30 Pro is still an amazing camera smartphone, and so is the Mate 30 Pro. Well, Huawei is planning to take a step forward with the P40 Pro, It seems.
We’ve already seen quite a few compelling camera smartphones this year, so it will be interesting to see how will they compare to the P30 Pro. The Galaxy S20 series is here, the Find X2 series, the Xiaomi Mi 10 series, and so on.
