Motorola has one more device in the pipeline under its Moto G8 series. Rumors about the Moto G8 Power Lite started emerging a couple of weeks ago and now we have visuals too. WinFuture’s Roland Quandt has posted a handful of pictures on Twitter showing the Moto G8 Power Lite in all its glory.
The pictures show a phone that looks a lot like the Moto G Power that was announced early last month. It features three rear cameras arranged vertically in an identical layout as the Moto G Power. There’s also an LED flash underneath.
While camera specs are unknown, the inscription beside the camera housing reveals the phone has an ultrawide camera and a macro camera along with the primary sensor.
The Moto G Power has a 16-megapixel main sensor, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor. In all probability, the G8 Power Lite will retain these very sensors.
On the front is a punch-hole display with a not-so-tiny circular cutout in the top left corner. The device itself is on the thicker side and so are the bezels, with the chin being particularly thick.
The power / lock and volume control buttons are positioned on the right while the SIM tray is on the left. One can also see a speaker grill on the top.
The bottom of the device has cutouts for a speaker, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone, and a USB port for charging. Expect the latter to be a USB Type-C port, which is what the Moto G Power has. The G8 Power Lite should also retain G Power’s 5,000mAh battery and 10W fast charging.
What’s inside the Moto G8 Power Lite?
While the Moto G8 Power Lite looks identical to the Moto G Power on the outside, it may not feature the same internals. The former is rumored to downgrade to a MediaTek Helio P35 processor from the respectable Snapdragon 665 chipset on the latter.
In terms of memory configuration, the Moto G Power offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It’s unclear if the G8 Power Lite will retain the same memory configuration.
Whether or not the Motorola logo on the back will house a capacitive fingerprint sensor is also something that remains to be seen. After all, it’s a “Lite” device and the company will be looking to cut the cost somewhere.
The Moto G Power will retail for $249 in the US. While the G8 Power Lite may not even launch stateside, it’ll certainly come cheaper than that wherever it launches. We’ll likely get to know more about this “Lite” Motorola phone in the coming weeks.
