According to the newest piece of information, the OnePlus 8 Lite will launch by July. This information comes from Ishan Agarwal and 91mobiles, who also revealed some OnePlus 8 Pro details earlier today.
Mr. Agarwal claims that the OnePlus 8 Lite name is still not set in stone. He says that the device may launch under a different name when the time comes. We’ll still refer to it as the OnePlus 8 Lite for the time being, though.
The OnePlus 8 Lite to launch by July with a not-so-low price tag
Now, according to this info, the OnePlus 8 Lite will launch by July and cost around £400 ($511) in the UK. The source implies that it will launch in a number of other countries, India included.
That may seem like a steep price for a ‘Lite’ phone, as it’s close to the OnePlus 7T’s price tag. Unfortunately, this may suggest that the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will be considerably more expensive than the 7 and 7 Pro. We’ll have to wait and see, though.
This suggests that the device will not become official at the same time as the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Those two phones are expected to launch in mid-April, and become available soon after that.
What’s also interesting, is that this phone will feature a 90Hz display. OnePlus promised that it won’t go back to 60Hz anymore, so this makes sense. It will be fueled by a MediaTek SoC, and we’re guessing the Dimensitey 1000.
The OnePlus 8 Lite is rumored to feature a 6.4-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display, and ship with Android 10 out of the box. The phone will include an in-display fingerprint scanner, and 30T Warp Charge fast wired charging.
Speaking of charging, the phone is expected to include a 4,000mAh battery. 48, 16, and 12-megapixel cameras on the back.
The device will launch in two variants
The phone will, allegedly, be available in two variants. The more affordable model will include 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The more expensive unit will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The device will be made out of metal and glass, just like its siblings. Unlike those two devices, this unit is tipped to include a centered display camera hole.
Its camera module on the back will offer a slightly different shape as well. OnePlus will probably do so that it differentiates this phone from its flagship offerings.
The OnePlus 8 Lite will sport really thin bezels, while its bottom bezel will be the thickest. The phone is also expected to include a flat display, in case you were wondering.
