The Samsung Galaxy A21 continues to elude the market, and yet, its upgraded ‘s’ variant is already nearing launch. The Galaxy A21s has recently acquired the certification from the US regulatory authority FCC, revealing some details in the process.
The FCC listing reveals that the Galaxy A21s will sport a 164mm display (roughly 6.5-inch). The handset has dimensions of 163.7mm x 75.3mm.
This dual-SIM phone bears the model number SM-A217M and supports GSM, WCDMA, and LTE networks. It also supports dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi.
The battery model number certified by FCC for the Galaxy A21s, EB-BA217ABY, is the same one that can be found on Russian parts supplier Naviglon‘s website. It is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging.
While the FCC listing doesn’t shed light on the rest of the Galaxy A21s specifications, we do know a little bit more from the device’s previous outings online. Last month, the Galaxy A21s appeared on Geekbench with model number SM-A217F.
According to the benchmark entry, this handset will be powered by an unannounced Exynos 850 SoC. This chipset seemingly has eight CPU cores operating at a base frequency of 2.0Ghz. The processor is paired with 3GB of RAM. Android 10 is onboard too.
The Galaxy A21s will reportedly be available in 32GB and 64GB storage variants. It is also said to pack a 2-megapixel macro camera on the back. Samsung might sell this phone in red, blue, black, and white color variants.
Galaxy A21s grabs FCC certification, Galaxy A21 nears launch
Samsung recently announced that the Galaxy A21 will arrive in the US market “later this summer,” along with Galaxy A11, A51 5G, and A71 5G. The handset features a 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity-O display with a pinch hole on the top left corner. The tiny cutout houses a 13-megapixel selfie camera.
On the back of this handset is a quad camera setup consisting of a 16-megapixel primary camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
Samsung is offering this phone in 3GB + 32GB memory configuration. Storage capacity can be expanded up to 512GB via a microSD card.
The Galaxy A21 packs a 4,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. The handset will sell at a starting price of $249.99. Samsung is yet to divulge details on its processor and color variants.
The Galaxy A21s might also launch near about the same time as the Galaxy A21. Interestingly, Samsung also launched a Galaxy A20e last year. Whether it has plans for a Galaxy A21e this year is unclear at the moment.
