Users who pre-ordered the OnePlus 8 Pro in the US already received the device, and some of them are experiencing display issues. Luckily, those issues seem to fixable via software updates, and the company promised that it will fix them soon.
Do note that such issues may appear to those of you who live outside of the US as well, of course. The OnePlus 8 Pro has launched earlier in Europe, so it’s possible even more users have the device in-hand now.
Various OnePlus 8 Pro display issues have been reported
In any case, these OnePlus 8 Pro display issues relate to crushed/clipped blacks, low brightness irregularities, green-tint problems, image retention, and even lines appearing around the display hole.
OnePlus did notify Android Police that it is aware of such issues, and that it is working on software fixes already. The company said that the ‘green-tint’ issue will be fixed in the next OTA update.
The issue with crushed/clipped blacks will be fixed via an update in May. As far as display lines around the display hole, well, no word on that yet. We’re not even sure if that can be fixed via a software update.
These issues are certainly not good news for OnePlus, but the company did react fast, and will hopefully fix them soon. If not all of them, at least the vast majority of them.

The device features a large AMOLED display, which is curved, and offers 120Hz refresh rate
The OnePlus 8 Pro features a 6.78-inch QHD+ Fluid AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate. It would be a shame if such issues would bog down such a great display.
The OnePlus 8 Pro was announced alongside the OnePlus 8, and interestingly enough, it seems like the OnePlus 8 is not having similar issues. Truth be said, that phone features a considerably different display. It includes a fullHD+ Fluid AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate.
As most of you know by now, both of these phones have received a considerable price hike. 5G is to blame for this, for the most part, in case you were wondering.
The two phones do look quite similar, though the OnePlus 8 Pro is larger than the regular model. The ‘Pro’ unit not only has a better display, but it also comes with a better camera setup, water and dust resistance, and wireless charging.
On top of that, the ‘Pro’ model ships with LPDDR5 RAM, not LPDDR4X. In other words, it has newer, faster, and more efficient RAM on the inside.
