As is usually the case after every smartphone launch, OnePlus has allowed users to ask all sorts of questions regarding its new smartphones. The company has now offered answers to quite a few OnePlus 8 series questions via its forums.
OnePlus 8 series questions answered by the company
The name of this thread in OnePlus Forums is ‘AMA about OnePlus 8 Series’, and answers come from various different departments within the company. We’ll talk about some of those answers, while the rest of them you can access via this link.
The company has confirmed that the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earphones will become available in India this Summer. This isn’t necessarily the OnePlus 8 series question, but those earphones did launch alongside the OnePlus 8 devices.
Users were wondering why isn’t the Always On Display (AOD) feature included on either phone. OnePlus promised that the feature is coming in the future, after it won the company’s ‘IDEAS’ project recently.
It was also confirmed that students and faculty members can get up to 10% off their order on OnePlus products. When it comes to smartphones, that discount is 5%, at least in Europe.
OnePlus also confirmed that the two devices are coming to Australia, but that things are not ready just yet. The company did promise that it will happen in the near future.
Screen protectors are not available, and it’s not clear if they’re coming
Prior to the OnePlus 8 launch event, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro screen protectors leaked. Users were wondering why are they not available to purchase from the company. OnePlus simply confirmed that they’re not available, and it didn’t offer any additional information.
The company also said that it offers specific models in specific colors based on the market research for each region. Quite a few users complained that they can’t get a phone in a certain color because it’s not available.
In the forums, OnePlus also talked about the phone’s cameras, shared more info regarding the Bullets Wireless Z earbuds, and more. So if you’re interested, check out the whole thread (link above).
The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro were announced quite recently, in fact. The two phones are considerably more expensive than their predecessors, and 5G is to blame for that, for the most part.
OnePlus also packed the 8 Pro with all sorts of features that other flagships have, and users have been requesting. That device is not IP68 certified, while it also offers 30W wireless charging. Those are long-awaited features from the company.
The two phones are actually quite similar on the outside. The OnePlus 8 Pro is larger, and it has an extra camera on the back, but other than that, they look the same. The ‘Pro’ model is more powerful, though, as its specs are superior.
