Realme has announced a new smartphone, a mid-range offering with some really compelling specs. The Realme X50m 5G is its name, and as its name says, it supports 5G connectivity.
This handset has been announced in China, but chances are it will become available elsewhere. The phone is made out of metal and glass, and it has rather thin bezels.
Its ‘chin’ is rather noticeable, though, as it is thicker than the rest of the bezels. There is a pill-shaped camera hole located in the top-left corner of the display. Two cameras are placed inside it.

The phone includes a side-facing fingerprint scanner, which doubles as a home key. The volume up and down buttons can be seen on the left side of this phone.
There are four cameras placed on the back of the device. They are vertically-aligned, and placed in the top-left corner. The Realme logo is visible in the lower-left portion of the phone, and the back of the phone is curved on the sides.
The Realme X50m 5G features a 6.57-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate. That is a flat panel, by the way, not a curved one
The Snapdragon 765G 64-bit octa-core processor fuels this smartphone. This is Qualcomm’s best mid-range processor that is currently available. It’s quite capable, and a good choice for any mid-range device.
The phone includes 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage. Android 10 comes pre-installed on the device, along with realme UI.
There are two SIM card slots inside of this smartphone. A Type-C USB port is located on the bottom, while Dolby Atmos support is also included. The phone has Hi-Res Audio certification, and a 1216 Linear Speaker.
A 4,200mAh battery is also included, along with 30W fast charging
A 4,200mAh battery sits on the inside of the phone, and supports 30W Dart Charge fast charging. The phone supports both 5G SA/NSA and Dual 4G VoLTE.
A 48-megapixel main camera (0.8um pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, OIS) is helped by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit (119-degree FoV). In addition to that, you’ll find a 2-megapixel macro camera (4cm macro lens) on the back, along with a 2-megapixel depth camera (f/2.4 aperture).
The phone measures 163.8 x 75.8 x 8.9mm, and weighs 194 grams. The device comes in Blue and White color variants, and its pricing starts at CNY1,999 ($282) in China.
