The Android 10 stable update is available for Motorola Moto G8 Plus. This new Moto G8 Plus Android 10 update is live in the form of a soak test. It is currently rolling out for users in Spain and Brazil. However, it is expected to soon make its way to other regions, including India.
Google is already prepping up for the release of Android 11 OS. Several smartphones from different manufacturers have already grabbed the Android 11 beta update. But Motorola and other OEMs are still in the process of delivering Android 10 updates to their phones, which was released by Google, last fall.
As per reports, the update is seeding with version number QPI30.28-Q3-28. Moreover, on top of Android 10, this new Moto G8 Plus update also tags the latest July 2020 security update, which is nice to see from Motorola. Android 10 brings in tons of new features and enhancements like system-wide dark mode, Digital Wellbeing, new navigation gestures, etc. The update is arriving on the Moto G8 Plus via OTA and it will take some time in hitting all the units.
Moto G8 Plus users in India will get the update soon
A similar soak test of the Android 10 update was also supposed to be conducted in India last week. And we might soon see the stable Android 10 update arriving for Indian users as soon as it is finalized.
The changelog of the update reads:
- Android Security: Includes updates of Android security patches through July 1, 2020
- Stability improvements: Includes changes that fix bugs and improve the stability of your device.
Motorola released the Moto G8 Plus back in 2019. The handset is powered by Snapdragon 665 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. Moto G8 Plus comes with 64GB of onboard storage expandable up to 512 GB via microSD. Besides, under the hood, it houses a decent 4000 mAh battery. It comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box, and Android 10 is the device’s first major OS update.
As already mentioned, this Android 10 update for Moto G8 Plus is live via a soak test. And as of now, it is not available for manual side-loading. If you have not yet received the update, then you can head over to Settings > System > Advanced > System updates to check for it. And if a new update is detected, then tap on it to install.
Motorola has a policy of pushing only one firmware update for its devices. Taking this into consideration, the Moto G8 Plus is highly likely to skip the Android 11 update.
