OnePlus Nord Debuts With An Unbelievable Price

OnePlus finally took the veil off of the much anticipated Nord smartphone. It’s first true mid-range smartphone, since the OnePlus X about five years ago.

We’ve seen all of the rumors, leaks and even some features that OnePlus had confirmed, leading up to this launch. And now it’s finally here. The design is very similar to the OnePlus 8 series, in fact, OnePlus says that they “stole it” from the OnePlus 8.

Mid-range specs with 5G connectivity

Internally, the OnePlus Nord sports the Snapdragon 765G chipset. Which many would consider mid-range, even though it is mostly the same chipset as the Snapdragon 865, but a bit slower. It does also support 5G connectivity.

It also sports up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Those aren’t usually specs you’d find in a “mid-range” smartphone.

OnePlus Nord comes with a quad-camera setup. With the main sensor being a 48-megapixel sensor with OIS. Along with an ultra-wide angle lens that’s 8-megapixels. A dedicated macro sensor and a depth sensor round out the four rear cameras. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel main sensor, and an ultra-wide angle sensor on the front. So you can get better group selfies.

Sporting a 90Hz refresh rate display, the OnePlus Nord isn’t your typical mid-range smartphone.

It’ll be available in Blue Marble, and Gray Onyx.

Warp Charge 30T is also available

It’ll come as no surprise, but OnePlus Nord also supports Warp Charge 30T. Allowing you to recharge your phone up to 70% in just half an hour. This charges at 30W. Which is one of the fastest speeds on a smartphone today. Yes, there are some smartphones coming with 125W charging, but they aren’t available just yet.

This means that those that are heavy users won’t need to worry about their phone running out of juice throughout the day.

OnePlus Nord also runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 10. And it will get updates fairly quickly, so you can expect Android 11 in the very near future.

Pricing & Availability

OnePlus Nord will be available in India for Rs. 24,999 and in Europe at €399 or £379.

Available in both Europe and India starting on August 4. In India, it will also be available from Amazon.

As of right now, there are no plans to bring the OnePlus Nord to North America. Though we have heard that it would come to the US in the future, as a very limited product (the term “beta test” was used).
