According to a well-known tipster, Realme will announce its insanely fast 100W+ charging tech this month. The information comes from Ishan Agarwal, who claims it will be called ‘Ultra Dart’.
This charging will be able to charge one-third of a 4,000mAh battery in just three minutes. If that’s not crazy fast, we don’t know what is.
Realme tipped to introduce 100W+ fast charging this month, along with ‘SuperDART Charger’
The tipster even shared an image that shows the ‘SuperDART Charger’ branding. That will probably be the name of the company’s charger that will enable such fast charging.
In terms of exact charging speed, it seems to be close to 120W, based on the provided information. So, it seems like the technology Xiaomi is developing will get its competition.
There are a ton of questions I have following this leak. The most important one is, however, how much will this damage the battery. Companies have found a way to preserve batteries to a degree, despite releasing various fast charging options.
Still, fast charging is damaging the battery more than regular, slow charging. This 100W+ charging by Realme is a whole different story, though.
We’ve seen 45W, and even 65W charging technologies, but nothing close to 100W thus far. We’re not counting Xiaomi’s demo videos, of course, as that tech is still not available to the general public.
I’m really interested to see what will both Xiaomi and Realme have to say about such charging. How do the companies intend to preserve battery packs while pushing so much juice into batteries, at such speeds.

100W charging is above and beyond everything else that is currently available
For comparison’s sake, the Galaxy S20 Ultra can currently offer charging speeds of up to 45W. The OnePlus 8 Pro can go up to 30W, while the OPPO Find X2 Pro offers 65W charging. That is the fastest charging currently available, if I’m not mistaken.
The Huawei P40 Pro+ offers 40W charging, while the iPhone 11 Pro (Max) is stuck at 18W. All in all, neither company offers anything close to 100W at the moment.
100W charging would basically ensure that you don’t have to charge your phone overnight. It would be able to charge it all the way up while you’re taking a shower before bed (from 0 to 100%), basically. All in all, it’s quite interesting.
