There is one thing that I always didn’t like when it comes to Android, and that is its sharing menu. Don’t get me wrong, the whole sharing logic on Android has been on point, but the sharing menu, not so much, which is why I started using Fliktu.
I do a lot of sharing on a daily basis using my phone, so I always wanted to set my favorite apps for that purpose. Android never allowed me to do so. It does make some suggestions, and allows some apps to plug into the sharing menu, basically, but that’s not really it for me.
Usually, when I go ahead and want to share a link, a picture, or whatever else, the suggestions at the top are just not what I’m looking for. For example, Viber contacts that I never message are always first on the list.
In any case, I wanted to find a solution for that for a while now, and then I remembered an app that I used a while back, but didn’t work well for me. That app’s name is Fliktu, and it works like a charm now.
Fliktu has been around for a long time. This app doesn’t really have the best rating on the Play Store, as it stands at a 3.7-star rating. Well, I was a bit skeptical when I installed it, but I didn’t regret it.
Fliktu allows you to pin your favorite Android apps to the top of the sharing menu
I’ve been using Fliktu for the past two weeks, and the sharing experience has been a lot better for me. This app doesn’t really allow you to favorite specific contacts within apps, or anything like it, but it allows you to pin your favorite apps to the top.
Fliktu lets you pin three of your favorite sharing apps to the top. If, for some reason, one of those is unavailable for specific file types, it will simply include the one you use most instead of it. That is also a great feature.
So, once you set that up, and go ahead and share something from the browser, gallery, or wherever else, those three apps will pop up on the display instead of Android’s default sharing menu.
You can select either of them, or if you want to use some other apps, simply swipe up and a whole list will open up. I even like the design of this app’s sharing menu, to be quite honest, it’s immensely simple.
Do note that Fliktu may not pop up at all times. It will pop up every time your default Android sharing menu is supposed to pop up, but some apps force their very own charging menus.
So, for example, if you share something from YouTube, you’ll have to use its sharing menu instead of Fliktu. Fliktu does have some additional options that you can take advantage of as well.
‘Fliktu for Links’ is yet another feature of this app
You can enable the “Fliktu for Links” option. That option will allow you to gently flick or share your device to open Fliktu instead of your default browser, and then share it or view it by using some other app. This is a feature I don’t really use, but it also works fine.
On top of all that, you can also enable Fliktu for copied links. That way, you’ll be able to launch Fliktu when you copy a link, and thus share that link directly to another app, without opening it. Give it a go, Fliktu is free in the Google Play Store.
