Samsung has just announced its new flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra. We’ve already covered the initial launch of these two phones, and it’s time to take a closer look at the Galaxy Note 20 series specifications.
The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra differ quite a bit in the specifications department
The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra do feature a considerably different set of specifications. The Note 20 Ultra is the more powerful of the two phones, and it shows that in a number of ways, at least on paper.
Due to the difference in their sets of specs, we’ll look talk about what they have in common first, and then move to the rest of their specs. First and foremost, their processors, both phones feature the Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC.
This is the latest and greatest SoC from Qualcomm, as it trumps the Snapdragon 865 launched. There’s not much difference between the two, though. Both phones are basically rocking flagship processors.
It is worth noting that variants in Europe and India do not come with Qualcomm’s SoC. Those variants are fueled by Samsung’s very own Exynos 990 processor.
You’ll also find the same software inside of these phones. They both ship with Android 10, backed by Samsung’s One UI 2.5 skin. The two devices also offer the same charging capability, despite having different battery packs.
You’ll get 25W fast wired charging in both cases, and the same goes for 15W wireless charging. 4.5W PowerShare (aka reverse wireless charging) is a part of both phones as well.
The two phones have the same 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and the same selfie shooter. You’ll find a 10-megapixel camera on the front side of both of these phones. That’s basically where their similarities end, though.
The Galaxy Note 20 comes with an inferior display, camera setup, no microSD card slot
The Galaxy Note 20 comes with an inferior 6.7-inch fullHD+ display. That is a flat display, and we’re looking at a 20:9 display aspect ratio here. The Galaxy Note 20’s display also doesn’t offer a high refresh rate, it’s set at 60Hz.
The phone includes 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A 4,300mAh battery can be found on the inside of this phone, and it’s not removable, which is the case with the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra’s pack as well.
A 12-megapixel main camera is located on the back of this phone. It is backed by a 64-megapixel telephoto camera, which enables 3x optical zoom.
The phone measures 161.6 x 75.2 x 8.3mm, and weighs 192 grams (Sub6) / 194 grams (mmWave).
The ‘Ultra’ model offers a 120Hz display, but it’s also quite large and hefty
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, on the flip side, comes with a 6.9-inch QHD+ display. That display is curved, and it offers a 120Hz refresh rate. The Ultra’s display also has a different aspect ratio at 19.3:9, which is quite odd.
This handset includes 12GB of RAM, backed by 128GB or 512GB of internal storage. The ‘Ultra’ even offers microSD card expansion, if you need more space, unlike the regular model.
This handset sports a 4,500mAh battery on the inside, and a 108-megapixel main camera. That camera is backed by a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and aforementioned 12-megapixel ultrawide camera.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra measures 164.8 x 77.2 x 8.1mm, and weighs 208 grams. So it’s quite hefty, and also taller, wider, and thinner than its sibling.
