Galaxy S21 Likely Won't Match 100W+ Fast Charging Its Competitors Offer

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will not ship with 100W charging, or anything of the sort. That also applies to the other S21-series smartphones, as they’ll match the S21 Ultra’s charging, or offer even slower charging.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra will support 60W fast charging, according to a tipster, Chun. He shared the information via Twitter, confirming Samsung won’t look to match the competition.

He did not mention other Galaxy S21 handsets, to be quite honest, but they won’t offer faster charging than the Galaxy S21 Ultra, that’s for sure. Chun is somewhat reliable, but he can be wrong, so take the information with a grain of salt.

The Galaxy S21 likely won’t match 100W+ fast charging its competitors are offering

In any case, 60W fast charging is plenty fast, no doubt about that. OPPO, Xiaomi, and Qualcomm spoiled us with 100W+ fast charging recently. Many people would assume Samsung’s next-gen flagships will include such charging, but… it seems like that is not in the cards.

60W fast charging is nothing to scoff at. Just to be clear, we’re talking about wired charging here, not wireless charging. We’re still not sure how fast will wireless charging be on the Galaxy S21 series.

Those devices are still far away at this point. The Galaxy Note 20 series launched quite recently. The Galaxy S21 series is expected to arrive in Q1 2021, quite probably in February or March.

Not much is known about the Galaxy S21 series at this point, though some tidbits did surface. Those devices will not include an under-display camera, if rumors are to be believed. Samsung will once again utilize display holes.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is expected to sport a new 108-megapixel camera

A recent rumor also claims that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will sport a 108-megapixel main sensor once again. That will be a new sensor, though, as it will succeed the HM1 unit.

The Snapdragon 875 will fuel the devices in the US and China, almost certainly. In Europe and India, that series will likely include the next-gen flagship Exynos processor from Samsung.

Android 11 will come pre-installed on all Galaxy S21 smartphones, along with Samsung’s custom UI. We’re guessing that the company plans to release three devices once again.

Samsung does need to change something moving forward in order to push out the competition. The Galaxy S20 sales have not been great for the company, and COVID-19 probably played a part in that.

The company cannot blame the pandemic for it, though, as something else is off as well. The Galaxy S20 series is quite expensive, and there are plenty of competitors out there at this point.

It remains to be seen how is Samsung planning to compete with the Galaxy S21 series. It also remains to be seen if the Galaxy Note 20 series sales will be as good as expected.
