Motorola seems to have partnered with Montblanc to release a special edition Razr 5G handset. This information comes from GizmoChina, who spotted an image of the retail packaging of this device, on the company’s website.

As you can see, both Motorola’s and Montblanc’s logos are on the box, as it the Razr 5G branding. This retail box seems to be slated for the Chinese market, as there are Chinese letters on it.
Montblanc, for those of you who don’t know, is a German company. The company sells a wide variety of products, and those are luxury products. It is selling watches, bags, headphones, and so on.
As already mentioned, the retail box of the device is listed on Lenovo’s website, but that’s pretty much it. No additional information was given alongside this listing, as the company is obviously teasing the launch.
This pretty much confirms that the Motorola Razr 5G Montblanc edition will be available in China. We’re not sure about other markets, though. Montblanc is a German company, but it remains to be seen if Motorola will decide to sell this product elsewhere.
This variant of the phone will be more expensive than the regular model, of course
The regular Motorola Razr 5G is priced at CNY12,499 in China, which translates to $1,832. Well, this special edition model will cost more, that’s for sure. We’re not sure how much more, but it’s likely to break the $2,000 barrier in the country.
This variant of the device will likely come with a slightly different design, with Montblanc’s logo. You may even get some additional goodies in the retail box, some Montblanc goodies.
On top of that, we’re also expecting some software-related changes. By that, we don’t mean system-level changes, but simply some added Montblanc-related content. Such as wallpapers and whatnot.
The Motorola Razr 5G is the company’s brand new foldable. It’s a successor to the Motorola Razr foldable that arrived last year. The device is more compelling than its predecessor, that’s for sure. Motorola did improve this year’s model in a number of ways.
The Motorola Razr 5G is still extremely expensive, though. This device is definitely not for everyone, even if you can afford it. Foldable smartphones are still in their infancy, but the Motorola Razr 5G is one of the few worth buying… though that’s up for discussion at their current price tags.
We’ll probably see many more foldable smartphones in the years to come. Samsung seems to be committed to delivering them, and the same goes for Lenovo / Motorola.
