HMD Global has announced a slew of Nokia audio accessories and protective cases alongside its new smartphones. That includes at least one new device that resides in a completely separate category from previous Nokia devices. Namely, a new wireless speaker. But it also includes a new line of truly wireless earbuds.
All of which should be available just in time for the new Nokia smartphones to arrive. Whether that’s the Nokia 2.4, Nokia 3.4, or Nokia 8.3 5G.
Nokia Power Earbuds and Power Earbuds Lite kick off Nokia audio accessories
The most detailed announcement on the Nokia audio and accessories front at this week’s HMD Global event comes in the form of Nokia Power Earbuds.
Key selling points for this 6mm graphene driver-powered earbud are arguably going to be led by battery life. That’s because, according to Nokia, the 79 x 48.5 x 31mm charging case holds a remarkable 150-hours of playtime. The case packs a 3,000mAh battery while the earphones themselves pack a 50mAh cell per bud.
Charging is via USB-C.
The earbuds are also exceedingly durable, in keeping with Nokia’s long-standing reputation. The Charcoal Black or Mint-colored design is IPX7 waterproof.
So, whether users link up via the built-in Realtek Bluetooth 5.0 chip in the home, at the gym, or out in the weather, these earbuds should hold up.
Nokia Power Earbuds will be available in the fall of this year starting at an MSRP of $99.
For those who may want to spend a bit less money for similar features, HMD Global also announced audio accessories in smaller charging cases. Namely, that’s Nokia Power Earbuds Lite.
Slated to arrive later in the year and designed to be pocketable, Nokia Power Earbuds Lite differ mostly in terms of battery life. The smaller case takes overall playback down to 35-hours from the standard edition’s 150-hours.
Nokia Wireless Speaker is coming soon too
On top of those accessories announcements, Nokia looked beyond cases to delve deeper into audio. Namely, it also talked about its first portable speaker. The Nokia Wireless speaker offers up to 4-hours of Bluetooth 5.0-driven playtime. And it can be paired with a second speaker for true stereo sound.
HMD Global indicates that the Nokia Wireless Speaker packs an integrated mic so that it can be used for calls.
The company says that availability and pricing will be revealed later this fall.
HMD Global is also launching new Nokia case accessories
In addition to audio accessories, there will also be a range of new cases for the latest Nokia smartphones from HMD Global. The first is a vegan leather wallet and stand-style case. That comes complete with an integrated credit card slot too. And will be sold as the Nokia Entertainment Flip Cover.
Looking past that case, the company unveiled that Nokia 3.4 and 2.4 would be introduced along with a new Clear Case.
Nokia built those cases to be ultra-slim and transparent to show off the devices. And, although they won’t likely be the most durable cases on the market, those cases will feature air-pocketed corners for better drop protection. The company also ensured each has a grippy design meant to help users not drop the device, to begin with.
Nokia hasn’t revealed pricing and availability details just yet for its smartphone cases.
