OnePlus 8T May Not Include The Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC

The OnePlus 8T may not be fueled by the Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC. This is quite a surprise considering that the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro did ship with the ‘Plus’ iteration of the company’s flagship SoC last year.

Pretty much every rumor that surfaced said that the device will include the ‘Plus’ model. Well, if some information that surfaced is to be believed, the Snapdragon 865 Plus may not be included.

The OnePlus 8T with the model number ‘KB2001’ got certified by BIS. That is the model number for the OnePlus ‘Kebab’ smartphone aka OnePlus 8T. That device did surface on Geekbench back in July. The certification itself does not report on the SoC info, though.

The OnePlus 8T may not include the Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC, the Snapdragon 865 tipped instead

A tipster, Abhishek Yadav, shared some information about the device in his tweet. He spotted the Snapdragon 865, and not the Snapdragon 865 Plus. He could be basing this on the Geekbench listing that surfaced in July, though. On the flip side, he could have some additional information, which is why he shared the info now.

Truth be said, this doesn’t make much sense. Everyone is expecting the OnePlus 8T to be fueled by the Snapdragon 865 Plus. This is quite odd, no matter the way we look at it. So, we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

The tipster also mentioned Android 11 in his tweet, which is a given. OnePlus’ all-new OxygenOS 11 will be included as well, by the way.

The tipster also mentioned that the device will be equipped with 8GB of RAM. That is information that Geekbench mentioned back in July.

The device is coming soon

The OnePlus 8T is expected to arrive by the end of this month, or next month. The OnePlus 7T got announced in September last year, by the way.

The device is expected to include a display camera hole, by the way. Chances are that it will be centered, though. The device is also rumored to feature a flat display, unlike its siblings. It will be made out of metal and glass.

A fingerprint scanner will be placed under the display, while the phone will support fast charging. Both fast wired and wireless charging is expected to be included here.

The OnePlus 8T Pro is not expected to launch, even though a guide for the device surfaced on the company’s website recently. That managed to bring some confusion into everything, but a well-known tipster, Max J., claims the phone is not coming. He shared that information quite recently, actually.
