OnePlus 8T To Run On Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 Out Of Box

OnePlus will launch its upcoming OnePlus 8T flagship smartphone on October 14. As per the latest blog post, OnePlus has officially confirmed the OnePlus 8T will be running on the latest Oxygen OS 11 based on Android 11.

The OnePlus 8T will be the first non-Pixel smartphone to launch with Android 11 out of the box. It’s because Google will be launching the Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5 with Android 11 at tomorrow’s Google “Launch Night In” event.

Even last year’s OnePlus 7T was the first smartphone to launch with Android 10 out of the box. It’s good to see the company is offering the latest version of Android on its smartphones. OnePlus first released the Oxygen 11 Developer Beta in June this year for OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro smartphones.

Earlier this month, the company also released the Oxygen 11 Open Beta 1. With the recent changes, Oxygen OS’s latest version looks very similar to Samsung’s One UI. Many of these changes are said to offer improved one-hand usage.

OnePlus is also adding a bunch of new clockfaces for the Always-on display. The company is also offering a redesigned UI for most first-party apps including Weather, Gallery, and Notes. Oxygen OS 11 will also include an option to schedule the dark mode.

With the new ZenMode 2.0, the company is offering more features than ever before. It now allows the user to create a room for enabling it on multiple devices. This feature works on top of Google’s Digital Wellbeing built to help you achieve digital detox.

Apart from the OnePlus 8 series, the OxygenOS 11 will be coming to all OnePlus smartphones starting with the OnePlus 6 launched in May 2018. Earlier this week, the company has confirmed that no Pro variant will be accompanying the upcoming OnePlus 8T.

The device can be fully charged in just 35 minutes

OnePlus has already confirmed the OnePlus 8T to sport a 120Hz Super AMOLED display. Unlike the OnePlus 8 Pro, this new device will feature a flat panel display with Full HD+ resolution. The company is also debuting the all-new Warp Charge 65 fast charging technology with the OnePlus 8T.

The 4,500mAh battery of the OnePlus 8T can charge up to 58 percent in just 15 minutes and up to 100 percent in 35 minutes. However, it will lack the wireless charging support the company debuted with the OnePlus 8 Pro.

The USB Type-C adapter coming with the smartphone will also support 45W USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) for using it on other PD-compatible devices.
