OnePlus 8T With Dual Battery Design To Support 65W Ultra Fast Charging

The OnePlus 7T, launched in the second half of 2019, is the first OnePlus smartphone to support Warp Charge 30T. Earlier this week, the company had revealed that it would launch the next T-series smartphone on October 14. The latest teaser also confirms that the upcoming OnePlus 8T smartphone will support 65W ultra fast charging.

Just like the Warp Charge 30T, OnePlus will also be licensing this technology from OPPO. Realme, which is part of OPPO’s parent company BBK, also offers the same fast charging technology but is branded as 65W SuperDart Charge.

OnePlus 8T to debut with the new 65W fast charging technology

While there hasn’t been any official confirmation, this new fast-charging technology could be called Warp Charge 65. As seen on the recent OPPO smartphones, the OnePlus 8T will also feature a dual-battery design to enable super-fast charging.

While OnePlus is yet to reveal the charging time, it should be on the same level as OPPO’s 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charging technology. The 4,260mAh battery on the recently launched OPPO Find X2 Pro takes 10 minutes to charge from zero to 40-percent and just 38 minutes for a full charge.

As per the leaks, the upcoming OnePlus 8T will sport a slightly bigger 4,500mAh-capacity battery. Unlike other fast charging technologies that use high-voltage and low-current solutions, OPPO’s patented charging tech uses low-voltage and high-current solutions. The company also moved the step-down transformer from the phone to the power adapter to reduce heat generation.

It will officially launch on October 14

Earlier this week, Amazon’s German website accidentally listed the OnePlus 8T revealing the complete specifications and color options. It will be available in two color options — Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver. The 6.5-inch AMOLED display on the front comes with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

Instead of the newer Snapdragon 865+, OnePlus might stick with the same Snapdragon 865 chipset found inside the OnePlus 8 series. In Europe, the OnePlus 8T will be available in 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB storage variants.

Coming to the cameras, the punch-hole selfie camera on the front sports a 16-megapixel sensor. On the rear, it comes with a quad-camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). It could also be the first smartphone to come with the latest OxygenOS 11 out of the box.

As seen in the beta version, the OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 should look a lot more similar to Samsung’s One UI. Even the rear of the OnePlus 8T with a large camera module looks exactly the same as on several Galaxy smartphones.
