If we go by a new leak, the Samsung Galaxy S21, which is slated for 2021, could come with 65-watt charging. Well, this is not the first time we are hearing about the Galaxy S21.
Previously, a 3C certification revealed that battery-related information about the entire Galaxy S21 lineup. As per the certification, Galaxy S21 will house a 3,880 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S21+ a 4,660 mAh battery.
Now, this new information brings in some more details about the device. Well, not entirely about the device, but at least about the charging speed that it will sport.
This piece of information is coming from GalaxyClub. One interesting thing is that the leak seems a bit convincing, as there is some sort of certification on the new 65-watt charger.
The certification is labelled EP-TA865. For those who are still confused about how this certification or label is convincing, the EP-TA845 is Samsung’s 45-watt charger.
So, the EP-TA865 does very well indicate that the company is definitely working on a smartphone with 65-watt fast charging support.
However, there is not much confirmation that the device would be the Galaxy S21. But it should be a device coming in the next year. So, that makes Galaxy S21 a good prospect.
Samsung going ahead with 65 Watt or 100 Watt makes very little sense
Hang with us here for a bit. Though 65 Watt or 100 Watt fast charging support looks pleasing to the eye, it makes very little sense.
A charger between 25 W and 45 W is okay, as it does the job of fast charging pretty swiftly and quickly. Slapping an ultra-high fast charger could very well deteriorate the phone’s battery.
Some might find this pretty convincing but who is in such a hurry to charge their device. If at all that’s the case, a 45W charger is also well capable.
Moreover, Samsung might not boost up the next flagship with a 65 Watt charger. For the unaware, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra does not even support 45W charging.
This makes it a bit odd for Samsung to bump the numbers for the Galaxy S21 to 65 Watt. But, hey! We are talking about the volatile smartphone market. So anything can happen.
Besides, the recently released, probably the final variant of the Galaxy S20 series, the Galaxy S20 FE also comes with 25W fast charging.
One speculation ma comes true is that the Galaxy S21 Ultra could come with 65 Watt charging. Don’t quote us on this. It’s just us, speculating.
Whatever the case may be, we will keep you posted about any further developments in this regard or any development related to the upcoming Galaxy S21.
