Samsung Announces New Rugged Tablet, The Galaxy Tab Active3

Today, Samsung in an official press release, announced a new tablet, called the Galaxy Tab Active3. It is built on the Active2 tablet design with a more rugged and compact design.

Besides, the Galaxy Tab Active3 is built keeping in mind the current scenario on how businesses operate. The tablet never misses a dime when it comes to the safety of the device.

Moreover, it is perfect for field-based employees. And users can even use gloves to use the touchscreen on the Galaxy Tab Active3 tablet.

As per Samsung’s statement, this new Galaxy Tab Active3 is built after taking feedback from customers and partners. The Tab Active3 not only is robust is safety features, but it also packs great specs under the hood.

Talk about safety, the Galaxy Tab Active3 comes with MIL-STD-810H certification. This means that it can withstand some of the toughest world jobs in extreme environments.

In fact, the device has shock absorption tech to overcome drops of up to 1.5 meters. The tablet is also IP68 rated dustproof and water-resistant.

The tab has some additional features like an Active key which can be programmed to access any apps or program. It supports Google ARCore, comes with NFC, and more.

Galaxy Tab Active3 is powered by an Exynos 9810 processor & 4GB RAM

Samsung has also equipped the tablet with powerful specs. It comes with an Exynos 9810 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It offers 128GB of onboard storage.

Some more important features include WiFi 6 with MIMO, for greater transfer speeds. The tablet is juiced by a 5050 mAh battery and support charging via USB and POGO pins.

If you are using this tablet in a place like a kiosk, then there is a “No Battery Mode”. This feature lets you use the Galaxy Tab Active3 without a battery.

Samsung has also slapped the Samsung DeX to provide its users with a PC-like experience. This also ensures dual-screen functionality in order to improve productivity.

It has an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. You can put in a microSD card to increase storage capacity up to 1 TB. The camera on the tablet is 13MP at the rear and 5 MP at the front.

Good thing is that the Tab Active3 comes with Android 10 out of the box. And the S-Pen is also IP68 certified. Security features include Samsung Knox and face and fingerprint recognition.

It will be available in select markets starting today

As per the official press release, the Galaxy Tab Active3 will be available in select markets starting today. Europe and some Asian regions will be the first ones to get it.

However, the other regions should be joining this list pretty soon. Note that the pricing information has not yet been revealed by Samsung as of yet.
