Last year, Bose said it plans to launch two new TWS noise-canceling earbuds in 2020. The new Noise Cancelling Earbuds 700 and Earbuds 500 were first announced during the launch of Noise Cancelling Headphones 700. According to the newly leakedvideo, the Noise Cancelling Earbuds 700 will soon make its official debut as the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds.
The video was accidentally posted by Australia-based retailer Harvey Norman. Though the video has now been deleted, it was already uploaded to YouTube. Apart from confirming the name change, the video also reveals several key features of these upcoming earbuds from Bose.
Bose QuietComfort Earbuds key features revealed in a leaked video
With active noise cancellation (ANC) support, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds will be competing with the Apple AirPods Pro and Sony WF-1000XM3. More importantly, the company is now back to using the QuietComfort branding. The earbuds sport the silicone “StayHear Max Tips” with integrated fins to hold them securely in place.
The “custom-designed microphone array” features several microphone holes to help improve call quality. The earbuds alone will last up to 6 hours on a single charge. Bose will be launching the new QuietComfort Earbuds in two color options — Silver and Black.
They also come with water and dust resistant certification. Last week, the earbuds and the charging case also received the FCC certification. Since the short-term confidentiality date mentioned is September 9, the company might be planning to officially reveal these new earbuds in the next few days.
There is no info available about the launch of the Bose Earbuds 500
The label from the FCC website confirms the charging case to feature a 430mAh battery. There is also a USB Type-C port on the rear of the case for charging. As of now, there is no confirmation on wireless charging support.
Bose also received FCC certification for its new audio sunglasses. The new sunglasses also look different from the Bose Frames Alto and Rondo which are currently retailing for $199.
While the Noise Cancelling Earbuds 700 is finally hitting the market, there is no information regarding the launch of the Earbuds 500. As per the announcement in mid-2019, the Earbuds 500 without the noise-canceling functionality is scheduled to launch by the end of 2019.
After the SoundSport Free wireless headphones launch in 2017, the company is yet to launch a new pair of TWS earbuds. With the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, Bose is finally bringing in a much needed alternative in the premium noise-canceling earbuds segment.
