S Pen Is Coming To More Samsung Devices Moving Forward

Samsung has confirmed that the S Pen stylus is coming to more devices in its recent MWC virtual event highlights video. This is not the first time the company made such an announcement, though.

As most of you know, a Galaxy Note-branded smartphone won’t launch this year. Samsung did enable S Pen support on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, though, and will do the same for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 which is coming soon.

Samsung is planning to bring S Pen support to even more devices

Well, more devices will join those two phones, it seems, as Samsung is looking to widen its horizons. The Galaxy Note series may make a comeback in 2022, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Until this year, the S Pen support was limited to the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab series. Well, the company’s stylus will be coming to more smartphones, more high-end smartphones, to be exact.

Is it possible Samsung plans to enable S Pen support on the Galaxy S22 series in general, not just the ‘Ultra’ model? Well, those are the only upcoming high-end smartphones from Samsung that we expect in the next half a year, excluding the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3, and S21 FE.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will offer S Pen support, and maybe even ship with one

Out of those three devices, only the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is said to support the S Pen. That handset won’t include a dock for the S Pen, though, unlike the Galaxy Note series phones.

In order to enable the S Pen support, Samsung does need to include a specific digitizer on a phone, and make it a bit thicker than it would usually be. It also makes the device a bit more expensive, of course.

Now, Samsung could enable the S Pen support for the entire Galaxy S22 flagship lineup, but we’ll have to wait and see. It’s almost certain that neither of those phones will ship with an S Pen, though. On the flip side, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 may include one.
