July Security Update Arrives To The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

So, as we have entered the month of July, Samsung phones are slowly getting the July security update. The latest device to join the bandwagon is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.

Samsung has already updated a bunch of Galaxy phones with the July 2021 security patch. FYI, the rollout began with the 2019 flagship, Galaxy S10. Later July security update was served to the Galaxy Fold, Galaxy S20, Note 10, Note 20, Galaxy A52, Galaxy Tab A 8.0, and the Tab Active 2.

Now, it is time for the flip phone from Samsung, the Galaxy Z Flip to be treated with the latest security update. The software is rolling out for the Z Flip model SM-F707B.

To recall, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip back in mid-2020. It was released with Android 10 One UI 2.5 out of the box and received the Android 11 One UI 3.0 update in December 2020.

It is in line to receive the upcoming Android 12 One UI 4.0 update. But for now, it is currently listed under Samsung’s monthly security update schedule.

Besides, it is advised to install the latest security update on your phone, because it brings fixes for severe vulnerabilities related to privacy and security. Moreover, it also adds a bugfix for the Android Auto-related bug, reported by several users.

Galaxy Z Flip users in Germany are receiving the July 2021 security update

As noted by SamMobile, at the time of writing this post, users of Galaxy Z Flip in Germany are the ones receiving the latest July 2021 security update.

It arrives with firmware version F707BXXU3DUF4. Unfortunately, the size of the update is not known. However, it is advised that you install the update on a stable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection. Just to avoid any issues.

For those in other regions, the update is executed to soon expand in the coming days. To know more about this latest July security update, we might as well have to wait as the official Samsung Security Bulletin is yet to be updated.

As always, Samsung is rolling out this update via OTA in batches. Meaning that it won’t be available for all the Galaxy Fold units right away. You probably have to wait for the update to go live in your region to download it.

Luckily, you can manually update your device by heading over to Settings. Then tap on Software Update, and finally hit the Download and Install button. If the update is live for your device, then it will begin the installation process.
