Acer launched multiple new Swift series laptops at CES 2023. We have two brand-new additions to the family: the Swift Go 14 and Swift Go 16, both featuring OLED screens. The company also announced refreshed models of the Swift 14 and Swift X 14.
Acer introduces a new Swift Go laptop lineup
The new Swift Go lineup expands Acer’s award-winning Swift family of laptops. Available in 14-inch and 16-inch models, these machines come equipped with OLED displays in a thin and light body, with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The company promises 500 nits of peak brightness, a 100 percent DCI-P3 color range, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, ensuring vibrant, true-to-life images. The Swift Go 16 (SFG16-71) boasts a 3.2K screen resolution (3200×2000 pixels) and a 120Hz refresh rate. The smaller Swift Go 14 (SFG14-71) is limited to 2.8K resolution (2880×1800 pixels) and a 90Hz refresh rate.
Both models feature Intel’s 13th Gen Core H-series processors, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD. You also get a MicroSD card for expandable storage. Other ports include a USB Type-C, Thunderbolt 4, and HDMI 2.1. The laptops come equipped with a 1440p webcam for your videoconferencing needs. Speaking of videoconferencing, Acer is shipping the Swift Go laptops with PurifiedView video conferencing features such as Background Blur, Automatic Framing, and Eye Contact. The webcam itself boasts Temporal Noise Reduction and AI Noise Reduction.
Other highlights of the new Acer laptops include backlit keyboards, OceanGlass touchpad, TwinAir dual fan system, dual D6 copper heat pipes, and 9.5 hours of rated battery life. The laptops come in an aluminum chassis measuring just 14.9mm in thickness. They also boast narrow bezels and weigh around 1.3kg (Swift Go 14) and 1.6kg (Swift Go 16). Acer will start selling the former in Europe in February with a price tag of €999. It will arrive in the US in May costing $799.99. The Swift Go 16 will debut in Europe in March priced at €1,099. Sales in the US will begin in June starting at $849.99.
Acer launches refreshed Swift 14 and Swift X 14 models
Acer has also refreshed its Swift 14 (SF14-71T) and Swift X 14 (SFX14-71) laptops for 2023. Both are powered by 13th Gen Intel Core H-series processors and feature 14-inch displays. It’s a WQXGA (2560×1600) or WUXGA (1920×1200) touchscreen solution on the former and a 2.8K OLED display on the latter. The Swift X 14 appears to feature the same display as the Swift Go 14, but with a faster refresh rate of 120Hz. It gets a 1080p webcam with AI Noise Reduction. Acer has also equipped it with dual USB Type-C and HDMI 2.1 ports and a MicroSD card reader.
The Swift 14, on the other hand, features a 1440p webcam with TNR technology and DTS Audio-powered dual speakers. Acer is also offering an integrated fingerprint scanner here. Port options include two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports and an HDMI 2.1 port. This model will be available in Europe this month starting at €1,699. Buyers in the US will have to shell out $1,399.99 for it when sales begin in March. If you want to get the Swift X 14, Acer will charge €1,499/$1,099.99 for it. This model will go on sale in both markets in April.
