Alleged Xiaomi 13 Ultra shows itself in a live image

The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro launched in China back in December, and are coming later this month to global markets. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra did not launch, but it may yet arrive at some point in the future. Well, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra allegedly just surfaced in a live image.

The alleged Xiaomi 13 Ultra just appeared in a live image

If you take a look at the image provided below, you’ll see the device itself. It may look like it’s in a case at first, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. It seems to have a vegan leather finish, at least this model, and a raised upper portion.

The entire upper portion of the device, almost one-third of the top is raised, and that’s where the camera module sits. You can clearly see a round camera module where all the rear cameras and sensors are included.

This camera module has an obvious Leica branding in the middle. There seem to be four cameras here, but unfortunately, the image itself is not sharp enough for us to see if one of them is a periscope one.

This phone will likely have a periscope camera on the back

It seems like one of the top two cameras is a periscope camera, but we cannot know for sure. That is one way Xiaomi can differentiate this phone from the Xiaomi 13 Pro, though. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is already an immensely powerful phone, so there’s not much Xiaomi can do to boost the Ultra. Adding a periscope camera is one way to do it, though.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is rumored to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the same chip as its siblings. A 50-megapixel main 1-inch camera sensor (Sony’s IMX989) was also mentioned in rumors. That is the same sensor the Xiaomi 13 Pro uses.

This phone will also have a large display which will likely be curved. Android 13 will come pre-installed on it, along with MIUI 14. Stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.3, water and dust resistance, and much more will also be included.

It remains to be seen if this phone will launch at all, and how will Xiaomi boost it compared to the ‘Pro’ model. The device is rumored to arrive in April, by the way.
