First OnePlus foldable phone will launch in Q3 2023: official

The very first OnePlus foldable phone will launch in Q3 this year, the company confirmed. During its Cloud 11 event yesterday, the company teased its upcoming foldable phone, or phones.

The very first foldable phone, or phones from OnePlus will launch in Q3

OnePlus showed a teaser on the big screen, along with a ‘Coming in Q3’ caption, as it briefly referred to the phone’s arrival. We’re still not sure if one or two devices will launch, though.

The OnePlus V Fold and V Flip names were trademarked recently, which indicates two different types are coming. One will fold vertically, and the other horizontally, as OnePlus is looking to compete with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. Well, at the time, it may compete with the Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5.

In any case, we’re not sure if one phone will launch, or both of them. One thing is for sure, though, OnePlus will finally announce its very own foldable offering. It will follow its sister companies, OPPO and Vivo.

Truth be said, neither of those companies launched a foldable smartphone globally just yet. OPPO is expected to do it later this month, but Vivo still did not.

OnePlus may borrow OPPO’s designs, or do something entirely different

In regards to OnePlus’ foldables, well, we don’t have much information. The company did borrow OPPO’s designs in the past, and that could happen this time around as well.

If that ends up being the case, those two foldable devices could resemble the OPPO Find N2 and Find N2 Flip. That would not be a bad thing, as both of those devices look excellent, have great form factors, and are really well built overall.

There is a chance OnePlus will go in a different direction, of course. It may release something entirely different, we don’t know. Chances are the company will start teasing that device, or perhaps devices, in the coming months.

One thing is for sure, both of those phones will be quite powerful. Chances are OnePlus will include high-end specs in them, perhaps not the best ones available, but close to it.
