The Nothing Phone (1) managed to make a name for itself last year amid competition such as the Galaxy S22, Pixel 6a, and iPhone 14. Now, its successor is on our minds, and it’s also on the way. The Nothing Phone (2) just picked up certification in India, according to 91Mobile.
We’re talking about BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification. This confirms that it’s going to be available in the Indian market. Of course, this doesn’t mean that it’s going to be exclusive to the Indian market.
The Nothing Phone (2) picks up BIS certification. What do we know about it?
Right now, pretty much any information about this phone is speculation, so you’ll want to take it with a grain of salt. Unlike its predecessor, the Nothing Phone (2) is expected to use a flagship-grade SoC. We don’t know exactly what it is, it’s heavily expected to be the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. If that’s the case, then it will have the power to go head-to-head with all flagships released this year. Sure, it’s a generation behind, but let’s be real, you WON’T be able to tell the difference in day-to-day usage.
The processor is expected to be backed up by 8GB of RAM which is pretty typical for a premium mid-ranger. However, rumors point to the phone having up to 12GB of RAM with up to 256GB of storage.
As for the display, it seems that it’s going to have a large 6.7-inch display that runs at 120Hz. We expect it to be similar to last year’s model, so it might be a 1080p+ AMOLED display. No one had any complaints about the Nothing Phone (1)’s display, so that won’t be an issue.
Moving onto the battery, we expect this phone to have a large 5,000mAh battery and support 67W fast charging. These specs are also on-par with flagship phones out there.
Next, we have the camera specs. The Nothing Phone (2) could possibly have 50MP cameras across the board. So, a triple-camera package on the back with all 50MP cameras. As for the selfie camera, that could be a 32MP sensor.
