A recent rumor said that both the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a will launch this Summer. Now, we’re here to talk about the pricing. A tipster shared approximate pricing for both the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a.
The Pixel Fold & Pixel 7a pricing gets tipped way ahead of launch
The information comes from Yogesh Brar, and he claims that the Pixel Fold will cost between $1,300 and $1,500. He also said that the Pixel 7a will be priced between $450 and $500. The Pixel Fold was initially rumored to cost a lot more, around $1,800, so this is a bit surprising.
He also reiterated what we already knew, that both phones will be announced at Google I/O. The tipster says we can expect the Pixel 7a to become available in global markets by early Q3, while the Pixel Fold will be launched in “select regions”.
The “early Q3” timeline for the Pixel 7a doesn’t exactly fit, at least not with the rumor that surfaced yesterday. That rumor claimed that the Pixel 7a will launch in June, which is still Q2, actually. Perhaps the tipster meant markets other than the US when he said “global markets”, in which case it’s possible.
In any case, take this info with a grain of salt, especially the pricing info, as that part is new. The tipster obviously doesn’t have concrete info just yet, so it’s possible he’s only guessing. We’ll have to wait and see.
The Pixel 7a will almost certainly cost less than $500
The Pixel 6a was priced at $449 when it launched, but it has seen a ton of discounts since then. Its lowest price tag was $299, and it was discounted to that point often. It’s possible Google is aiming for the same price tag of $449 with the Pixel 7a. The device will hardly cost more than $499, so that info is probably accurate.
In regards to the Pixel Fold, it’s possible its price tag will be between $1,300 and $1,500. One rumor said that it may go as high as $1,800, though, so… we’ll see.
