Moto G 5G (2023) renders leak to reveal a new camera

Motorola recently launched the Moto G Power 5G in the US. The $300 priced smartphone could soon be followed by the Moto G 5G (2023). While there aren’t many rumors about this phone, noted Twitter tipster @_snoopytech_ recently shared high-resolution renders showing it from all angles. The handset appears to be nearing its launch stateside.

The Moto G 5G (2023) brings a few notable changes to the design over its predecessor Moto G (2022). Firstly, Motorola has removed a camera from the back and has made the housing more rectangular. We can also see that the primary camera is a 48MP sensor, down from the 50MP one found on the 2022 model. The specs of the second rear camera are not known. Last year, Motorola offered a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

On the front, we have a similar punch-hole design with the centered cutout housing the selfie camera. Once again, the specs of the front camera are missing. The 2022 model has a 13MP sensor. We are also missing details about the display of the Moto G 5G (2023). It’s unclear if the Lenovo-owned company has made any changes to the 6.5-inch 90Hz LCD panel found on last year’s Moto G smartphone.

Elsewhere, the 2023 model appears to have flatter edges than its predecessor. It houses a speaker, microphone, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. A second microphone hole can be seen at the top, while the volume controls and a power button with an integrated fingerprint scanner reside on the right. We should have the SIM tray on the left. The leaked renders show the Moto G 5G (2023) in silver and dark blue colors.

Motorola also has a stylus-equipped Moto G-series 5G phone in the works

Along with the Moto G 5G (2023), Motorola is also working on the Moto G Stylus 5G (2023). As the name suggests, the latter phone comes with a built-in stylus pen for easy note-taking and other uses. Unlike the former, leaks have already revealed a lot about the new stylus-equipped Motorola smartphone.

Based on leaks and rumors, we are expecting the Moto G Stylus 5G (2023) to arrive with a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset paired with up to 6GB of RAM. Motorola is equipping it with a 6.5-inch display featuring HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 50MP dual-camera setup at the back, a 5,000mAh battery, and Android 13. Stay tuned for the official launch dates of the two upcoming Moto G-series handsets.
