The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra pulls no punches.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the most powerful smartphone in the Galaxy S24 series. This handset is made out of titanium and glass. It features sharp corners and a flat display. Samsung made a big change here, as the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the first ‘Ultra’ smartphone from the company to feature a flat display. Its top and bottom sides are flat, but the same cannot be said for its left and right sides. They are rounded, not flat.
The phone does ship with an S Pen stylus, which is tucked away on the inside. It is accessible from the bottom of the phone. Each of the phone’s cameras protrudes from the back separately, and there are four included here. The main 200-megapixel snapper definitely stands out, but the other three are also quite compelling. Samsung is using ultrawide, telephoto, and periscope telephoto cameras on top of the main (wide) camera.
A large 6.8-inch AMOLED display is placed on the front of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. As you’d expect, this display does offer an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and it’s quite bright too. Samsung even included the Gorilla Armor protection on top, which is a first for any smartphone. Gorilla Armor is fantastic when it comes to fighting off glare, which makes this phone a joy to use outdoors. This panel is also quite sharp with a 3120 x 1440 resolution, and it has thin bezels around it.
Android 14 comes pre-installed on the device, with Samsung’s One UI on top of it. Samsung promised 7 years of software updates for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra too, which managed to grab quite a bit of attention from users. There is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner placed under the display here, while both wired and wireless charging are supported. Do note that a charger is not included in the retail packaging, however.
