Featured: Google Sold Upwards Of 1 Million Nexus 7 Tablets In Q3 [Rumor]

The Nexus 7 was announced in June during Google I/O and pre-orders started shipping the second week of July. It was by far one of the most anticipated Android tablets of all time, especially in the 7 inch category, but how did it do in terms of sales?

Google has yet to release official stats, but according to analyst Gene Munster who went over their recent earnings report, the tech giant may have sold between 800,000 and 1 Million of the Nexus 7. Among the earnings report, there was $666 million in “Other revenue”. You know, just over half a billion dollars, nothing big.

Looking at the “Other revenue”, that’s how Gene came to his findings. Upwards of 1 million tablets seems like a lot, but something tells me that this number could be a bit low. Of course the device definitely appealed more to the Android enthusiasts out there and maybe didn’t catch on as much with the average, every day consumer.

Either way, the Nexus 7 32GB is coming soon and with that means a lower priced 16GB version and what appears to be the 8GB version being phased out. That’ll definitely help to ramp up sales this holiday shopping season and prove to far more than increase that number.
